Solid list but I can't believe Gargano vs. Cole wasn't included. True story: I used to work in TV news and was (supposed to be) covering the Red Sox-Diamondbacks season opener in Phoenix, but I was glued to my iPad in the press box watching Gargano and Cole put on a masterclass. I'm a huge Gargano fan and was thrilled when he won the title. I have no memory of who won the baseball game.

The title was vacant when gargano beat cole that's probably why. They said the same thing when cole won the north american championship. It wasn't technically a "title change" since no one had the title

As much as I loved Bayley's title win, I honestly think her title loss might have been even better. Both women played their roles to perfection - Asuka's offence was creative and relentless, and Bayley sold the hell out of it. She made herself seem increasingly desperate as the match went on, and her final defeat felt genuinely devastating. Bayley showed she's the best out there at losing - a weird skill but an essential one. You felt for her and the loss just improved her character. (Goddamn, Takeover Dallas was an incredible show.)

1. Ilja Dragunov defeating Walter (Gunther) for the NXT UK Championship (NXT Takeover 36 2021) ending the latter's record 870-day reign as champion. 2. The New Day defeating Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championship (NXT Deadline 2022). What made this special was that it made New Day the third tag team triple crown champions (behind The Revival and The Street Profits), 12X tag team champions, and for Kofi Kingston a 15X tag team champion. 3. Asuka defeating Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship (NXT Takeover: Dallas 2016) 4. Finn Balor defeating Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship (The Beast in the East 2015)

The KO taking the title off Sami is one of my all time fav moments in wrestling. The shock of Sami the beloved hero who had gone through the giant redemption arc and finally won the big one to then just get obliterated by his best friend to the point the officals had to go 'look if we give you title will you please stop hurting him'. At the time I sat watching disbelieving thinking I can't believe they've done this to Sami so soon after winning the belt but then also thinking how genius it was and how much it puts over KO while never breaking Sami's will just his body. Also looking back and how that has set Kevin's character through so much of his WWE run.

I cannot overemphasize how pivotal and amazing the top 2 entries are on this list. To me that was the golden Era of NXT, and I still maintain that Sasha v Bailey in Brooklyn that night is among THE best women's matches in wwe history, not just then but still. The storytelling is off.the.charts.

He did get two NXT Championship matches on SmackDown! And RAW in 2019. Defending it against Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins respectively. The former is the better of the two since it got more time and ended in a clean finish.

EDIT - Bayley vs. Sasha being #1 is fully deserving of the top spot. There used to be an excellent tribute video of Bayley's journey to the title (soundtracked to Coldplay), but it was recently struck down for copyright issues.

GOD i miss the Black and Gold man. I mean new NXT is good, way better than 2.0. However the Black and Gold era of NXT is literally what got me back into wrestling as an adult.

These NXT title changes are precious to me during the Black & Gold Era. Since 2013, NXT became a juggernaut of pure pro-wrestling until the McMahon Regime ruined it in 2021 and again in 2023.

It starting go downhill for me around 2019...but the decline got worst since 2020

Vince didn’t “ruin” NXT with NXT 2.0. Sure it had a rocky start but it helped develops the stars of tomorrow (Bron, Melo, Grayson, Toxic Attraction, the Creeds, Tiffany, Cora, Roxanne)
