I was one of those 21,000 people who marked out for the returning John Cena live at MSG. The entire night, whenever Cena was mentioned or appeared on the screen the entire audience boo'd. When his music hit and he came out at number 30 the entire crowd switched and cheered. It was amazing to see live.

I still remember the Cena rumble, I was 13 and couldn't buy the ppv so I kept refreshing the WWE.com page to see results then Cena's face appeared and the headline read as the Champ returns to win the rumble and I marked out. Still one of the best royal rumble moments for me.

The one thing that always gets left out when discussing Cena's return at MSG is how quickly the cheers turned to boos. People act like it was the equivalent of Rock's 2011 return or Hogan at WM 18. Truth is the crowd was genuinely surprised to see Cena return. The rumble up to that point was pretty unspectacular, with Batista and Triple H being the obvious favorites. Cena's music hits and wakes the crowd up a bit. After the surprise wears off, the realization hits. He's going to WIN!!!!! Cheers turn to jeers for fear of what's to come. Although you could also make the case that the people were just booing because that's the "cool" thing to do. I know that's the argument that Vince (and all the WWE loyalists) would make.

I'll add Chris Jericho in 2013. I was at that Rumble in Phoenix. NO ONE knew he was returning. The pop he received was louder than that of The Rock, who beat Punk for the title later that night.

Mr Perfects surprise comeback was the greatest of all time. He looked like he never missed a beat and hung in with triple h, Kurt angle and Steve Austin and it didn't look forced. I don't know if anyone noticed this. The first hint of 'John Cena vs. The Rock' was given to us at the 2008 Royal Rumble. Both men were still young when each won their respective Rumble match. Ironically; it also happened in Madison Square Garden. To top it all off; Cena became the first Royal Rumble winner (since the Rock) to have lost at Wrestlemania.
