Let's be real, they HAD the opportunity at their first year due to how hot and fresh they were (and Vince was still on his ultra senile mode), but Tony didn't capitalize it and instead he was slowly changing it into his personalized collect-all-wrestlers toy box and that was pretty much the end of the opportunity. I.) The quote is something they (WWE) have said for years. It wasn’t just with AEW. II.) This doesn’t prove anything. If anything it confirms that AEW still has time. It’s a marathon and it’s still doing relatively well. They have time to improve more. III.) I find it counterintuitive for people to legitimately want a monopoly. That’s what WWE was for years. Every up and coming wrestling company would get raided. They’d lose momentum. Most companies had to embrace being an alternative and never getting too big. TNA became a strong alternative. They failed. AEW was a strong alternative and now they are failing but still holding relatively well. I don’t get the hate. I don’t get why people want a monopoly. Competition is best for the consumer. That’s us. If we have more options, that makes them step their game up. IV.) I feel like people legitimately forgot how awful the “PG Era” in WWE was. Things that made me personally stopped watching -Lost focus with roster. Everything felt interconnected early on -Too many belts. Why is there a continental title and an international title? -Dream matches for the sake of dream matches -Jericho. Don't hate him but some time off would be nice -Women's division is the worst it's ever been -Too much use of blood. I've never been a huge fan of wrestlers becoming managers of personalities or tag teams...but Jericho is clearly better these days working the stick than in the ring. He is one of the very very very few people in wrestling HISTORY who has the ability to be equally as good at that aspect. The fact Punk was willing to put his personal feelings aside and work with the Elite says a lot. Especially since they declined. It shows who put the product and good of the company before themselves and who didn't. Look at how great it has been with Punk in WWE. HE LEFT!!! vince's ouster- the main drawing power of aew was it wasnt vince's stale, out of touch, poop joked filled, and very inconsistent wwe. Completely agree, just couple Vince's ousting with Papa H taking control of creative. While he hasn't been perfect, for the most part, he's had some amazing stories and booking. AEW needs storyline continuity, and they need to recognize and display their top stars who have previously won the world championship which are Chris Jericho, Adam Page, Jon Moxley, MJF, Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland. Those are AEWs' top stars based on the decision of them being former world Champs in AEW and still being active. Tony Khan needs to keep it simple and not have complex storylines. Wrestling is simple. Everyone wants the belt to potentially create a lasting legacy. For the future stars they should have to go through those six to become a main eventer within AEW. Regardless of if they are an Ex wwe star or indy, they need to go through those six to be classified as a maineventer within AEW.

The bucks were like 2 Britt bakers every time they got air time it drug the ratings down. The problem with AEW fanboys is that they never accept that their favourite show is not a perfect one. Everytime someone tries to constructively criticize its approarch or give suggestions to make it better, they just start defending it like their life depends on it. See the reality guys, when fans become vocal for the betterment of their favorite product, more often than not the management listens to them and work for the sake of it.

It's not that, it's the fact that they do wrestling matches with boring or no storylines. Normal people don't watch scripted fake fights if there's not a good reason to watch it, like movies with CGI and big explosion but with terrible plot and script. I can be in a bar and watch two random guys fight from the distance for less than a minute and then continue my life but if I know the guys and the reason why are they fightning it's more interesting and I'll be invested, that's what makes wrestling a business.

Put it like this imagine tomorrow the movie “Batman vs Iron Man” comes out and it’s only a 20 minute movie with 1 fight scene and then it ends. That’s what Aew is in a nutshell.

I went to a show back in 2021 here in nyc in queens great show!!! Saw everyone I wanted to see especially Kenny Omega who was champion at the time and CM Punk and Jericho Sting as well Orange Cassidy was my guy at the time all around great show. Stadium was full now it seems as if they're shows are half empty.

The entire time is just comparing AEW to NXT but he refers to NXT as "WWE" At no point in any time has AEW ever had more viewers than RAW or Smackdown and their PPV/PLE's haven't even come close. The company just signed a TV deal that it's *claimed* makes the company profitable but we don't actually know that for sure. People who talk about the TV deal don't seem to realize that such deals include a rating that the company in contractually obligated to meet. If AEW's numbers keep falling they'll fall below that threshold and get canceled. You can pretend the falling TV numbers and live tickets sales don't matter but they absolutely do. It's kind if strange to me that you're so happy about the new TV deal for the company anyway. I'd rather AEW have an entertaining product that people enjoy than a new TV deal.

Triple h made it a bloodbath. Even the debut of AEW wasn't even close to a single episode of SmackDown under triple h. The tribal Chief storyline, Drew McIntyre versus CM punk, liv Morgan vs reah Ripley . They haven't even played their trump card of the rock vs Roman reigns. They turned Rey Mysterio son into the greatest heel of all time. He literally can't get a single word out in any promo. Don't get me wrong CM punk versus MJF was huge but it wasn't even close to the level of Cody Rhodes versus the bloodline that ended in a 2-day WrestleMania extravaganza. They're so stacked right now they just took two of their top stars jade and Bianca Bel Air and put them in a tag team with no real direction and they're still killing it way more than any of the females in AEW. And you have to think WWE in their female division has two Hall of famers on the sidelines right now . Becky Lynch and Charlotte flair. I mean it's going to be at least a year before AW could get there feet below them again. They're just not going to beat John Cena's retirement year extravaganza. Just the idea of all the different stars that John Cena could make over the next year. All the different matches in his retirement year and the fact that he still could win the WWE championship and surpass Ric flair. Until Tony Khan gets his head out of his fourth point of contact I think he's going to be buried below WWE for quite some time
