10 Biggest Kaiju in Pacific Rim

The Kaiju (Strange Beast) are a race of amphibious creatures genetically engineered by the Precursors, a sentient race from the Anteverse. In 2013, the Precursors opened a portal between dimensions at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, allowing the Kaiju to enter Earth's dimension. As biological weapons of warfare, Kaiju are extremely hostile and toxic creatures designed with the intention to wipe out all humankind.
During the Triassic Period, the Precursors attempted to colonize the Earth, but the environment proved to be uninhabitable for them and prevented them from surviving on the planet. They, therefore, bid their time until Earth's environment was ready for the Precursor's colonization.
The progressive pollution of the Earth's environment by mankind made it possible for the Precursors to survive on the planet and colonize it. In response, they created a race of amphibious creatures, biological weapons are later known as the Kaiju by the humans. Shortly thereafter, the Precursors create a portal that bridges their universe to Earth on the floor of the Mariana Trench.

Myself I always felt Trespasser was one of if not the strongest of the kaiju from the movie because it took two armies and a handful of tactical nukes to put him down. Vs the other Kaiju they either fell to high grade missiles, bladed weapons, or plasma cannons. Non of these weapons could level cities in an instant.

U have to realize that when Trespasser attacked no one knew jack 💩 about how to kill a kaiju. The giant blades and plasma cannons of Gipsy Danger, as well as the anti-kaiju missiles of Striker Eureka, were invented only after knowledge of kaiju physiology was obtained. At the beginning the military threw nukes at Trespasser because they had no other option. The same jaeger-mounted weapons that killed later kaijus can also kill trespasser, possibly with more ease. It’s just that the world didn’t have jaegers during said attack, so they used nukes which was the next best thing. Alternatively, we can also reason that the nukes that killed trespasser won’t work against later kaijus since the precursors adapt and evolve the kaijus they send out every single time. Kaijus are essentially biological weapons that upgrade with each deployment, patching weak points and rendering previous options of taking them down less viable. It’s the reason why old jaegers eventually get wrecked by newer kaijus (Examples: Otachi’s acid against the thick armour of Cherno Alpha and its powerful and maneuverable tail claw to counter Crimson Typhoon’s extra appendage; Leatherback’s EMP generator that target the Striker Eureka’s circuits). You would have noticed during the movie that Striker Eureka does much better against kaijus compared to jaegers of older generations. However it does also struggle against some of them (Leatherback, Slattern, etc.). This shows that no matter how advanced the jaeger is it will inevitably be outclassed by newer and more improved kaijus. The movie essentially centres around an arms race between humanity and the precursors, one which humanity is losing because of politics and the sheer economic burden of constructing newer and better jaegers (100s of billions a piece). If Gipsy Danger didn’t blow the breach the precursors would eventually send kaijus that can counter everything humanity will deploy and win the war. Well… they wouldn’t have to because if that mission failed humanity has nothing left to defend the world that can be created quick enough and they become sitting ducks and die from further kaiju attacks, period. Another evidence for the ever evolving strategy of the precursors is that in the sequel movie they managed to coerce a human into reopening the breach, after which they sent a kaiju that doesn’t do physical damage but acts as a biochemical weapon (the kaiju blood would boil once Mount Fuji erupts and spread toxic gas around the world, terraforming Earth and killing humanity). The precursors learned that sending kaijus that commit mass murder through physical damage is too ineffective, so they evolved their attack strategy and opted for the biochemical route which in theory would be faster. PS: PR Uprising sucked

Size specs are a little off. I did a size measurement of Slattern from the Pacific Rim the game (which appears to be the same as in the movie) and in her basic stance on land, she stands at around 350ft tall. There’s also no way that Scunner was 441 feet tall since she was around the same size as Raiju. It is confirmed that the MegaKaiju is the largest and heaviest of the Kaiju at 420ft.

Yup. We see Gipsy fighting Scunner and they're around the same height. Scunner is clearly not over one and a half times taller than Gipsy. Which makes me think that if PR can't even get their heights correct, why would the weight stats be any more accurate.

joshua ashley The MegaKaiju is pretty weak for its size. It was killed by a super punch and nearly sacrificed itself by jumping in lava. Throwing around and beating up jaegers 3 times lighter and 5 times smaller than itself is far from an accomplishment. Not to mention the jaegers took out its brains and broke off one of its tusks. Ghidorah has better feats, is more powerful, is MUCH heavier, and would easily win this fight.

@joshua ashley Ghidorah more often than not. He has regeneration, power drain, and flight (if he decides to use it, which he might not. He didn't against Godzilla until Godzilla was stunned and unable to resist.) Although it isn't impossible for Mega-Kaiju to get a few wins in - his bite is definitely strong, he's overall similar in size to Ghidorah, and his energy absorption is a real game-changer.
