Thanks Style O.G. Your suggestions were well balanced. Having bad credit or being careless with money is very expensive. People don’t have to be rich to be financially literate or healthy. And waste is never good. Whether it’s time or money. Appreciate your videos.

Great advice Jeff. My guiding principle has been to live within our means. Trying to keep up with your friends and neighbors is a losing game. Avoid debt other than a mortgage and pay the mortgage off as early as possible. Start saving early as you said. Sadly this information is not taught in our schools.

This was a great tips and advice video! It took me a while to understand this concept when I was much younger (actually until I became a financial counselor while in the USN did I finally understand) and was only exposed to bad spending habits, poor investment strategies, and plethora of just plain old buying things I didn't need. I would suggest people definitely look at how and what you are spending their money on. Don't allow your ego, pride, and/or arrogance cause you to stay broke. Health insurance, automobile/home warranties (aftermarket warranties too), and financial maturity to name a few always help you to better yourself when it comes to finances. Outstanding work on this video good Sir!

Jeff, Another great topic my brother. Financial security is a key to our long term success. Once I got married. I started doing a weekly budget. Increase into for 401K. Plus there are on line saving accounts that start at 0.50%. Due to chip shortage both new and used care prices are up 20%. Plus due to COVID-19 the price used cars is insane. If you have good credit you get the better interest rate on credit cards and loans. Salute to you for taking about Money and finance.

Style OG you are on point as usual!!! I had 7 brokerage licenses a bunch of years ago and what you talked about in the video held true back in the day. Now today, we also need to be concerned about estate planning. If you have to have your assets probated, as much as 30% to 50% can be eaten up by attorney fees and court costs. A will is not enough!!! A comprehensive estate plan would include at at minimum a will, a living will, a medical directive, a financial power of attorney and a revocable living trust. I am not an attorney, but I can tell you that all attorney's are not created equal and just simply don't know enough about estate planning. I had one tell me I didn't need a trust. And I thought...well you can't help me...lol Again, you are on point as always. THANKS for informing us all!!!

Right on the money! For you unmarried guys, DEFINITELY make sure she is on the same page with regards to finances and financial philosophy. That alone will save you a lot of headaches down the road. And, like he says, invest EARLY and KEEP investing. Even if it's $100 to start. Let the historic stock market trend (measured since the Great Depression) and compounding work for you. Try to avoid targeting single companies. Go with mutual funds instead. Get "no load" funds whenever possible. Don't worry about the "Joneses". I know it's harder when you're young to avoid that. Plus many think they need to impress women. So they overspend on cars (and clothes, in some cases). Bad decision. Also try to stick with RELIABLE cars so you are not having to come out of pocket to keep fixing them. If a woman gives you the impression that she is not down with all of that, do not walk - RUN. You'll be surprised at how quickly time flies. That 30-40 years comes right up on you. Trust me.

You had me up until you mentioned not buying a new car. I completely disagree with that. I've owned both a used car and a new one (and I will NEVER ever buy a used car again). A used car is a lottery. Nobody sells a used car because it runs perfect and has no issues. It can run just fine for a few months, then break down when you least expect it and force you to spend more money on fixing it than what you've spent on buying it.
@TheStyleOG3 жыл бұрын

@alexduta74693 жыл бұрын
@@TheStyleOG not even that. Would you sell a car that you've bought brand new and has no problems after just (let's say) 3 years? Unless you're a millionaire, I think you would not do that. You, probably would, however, look to sell it if the car has problems.
@TheStyleOG3 жыл бұрын
many people trade in or sell a car because they like having a new car, not because there is something wrong with it..
@alexduta74693 жыл бұрын
@@TheStyleOG guess it's a cultural thing then, because where I'm from, when someone buys a new car they hold on to it for at least 5-7 years, because they can't afford the luxury to replace it just because they got bored of it. Buying a car is a big thing pretty much everywhere and changing it every couple of years is more of a waste of money, rather than smart investing. Edit: and when I said "someone buys a new car" I meant any car, not just a brand new one.
@alexduta74693 жыл бұрын
@@DA-xh3tw I see your point, but furthermore I think it leads towards 2 different points of view: 1. "You lose a couple of thousands as soon as you leave the lot" which shows the intent of selling it in a rather short while. 2. I bought it brand new and I'm gonna get my money's worth out of it until I send it to the junkyard and replace it with another new car. This usually takes around 10 years.
