I came to the Philippines [Cebu Business Park] in October 2024 after I RETIRED. I've worked my Forty-Five years... I have no need or desire to work. Am I lazy, no. I keep my Condo Clean, tinker with Computer Equipment, Cook if I feel like it. The Mall all it's Food Choices is a Seven minute walk if I don't feel like cooking. The other McDonald's is Twelve minutes away. There is Street Food & Cheap Restaurants within a Ten Minute Walking Circle of my Condo. For that matter, in the same Walking Circle there are Four 7-11s, at least three Sari Sari Stores, and Landers.

I purchased some furniture and when I did I had to fill out a form with my phone number on it. A few days later a woman was sending me nude pics of her kitty and asking me out...I asked how she had my number she said it was on my purchase card but what intrigued her was my officer uniform, I then found out all the uniformed men she had dated and where and when she had them in detail. I guess I've been "lazy" for the past 12 years here after 24 years in the Marines, 12 deployments, I think I've earned my "laziness." My wife does pretty much everything for me, we share the cooking we share the bills we've made investments together, she's 60 I'm 66. Married 11 yrs nah. This is a matriarchal country and what most foreigners don't understand is that the women run the household. That's why we are "lazy" 😛 My wife just retired from the BI and she worked very long hours and not once did she ever have to worry about me 'cheating' (she'd probably have me deported 😂) anyway being well disciplined is important, most of my neighbors here are married. I’m deeply considering leaving Reston, Virginia to relocate to The Philippines. But The Philippines doesn’t allow foreigners to hold a job and work there (as I understand it). The fact is that what turns you off is the same thing in all culture's but the men who goes to the filipines or anywhere else is there to enjoy your country and some good company and then go back home and get on with their life. If they happen to meet a beautiful woman who is looking for a serious relationship with a foreigner and not just another player then that is a good thing but usually that doesn't happen because we have enough women in this country who are looking for a easy payday. I'm not saying that Filipino women are just interested in a easy payday but we know that it's a possibility and he can be taken to the cleaner's because he let himself get played by a beautiful con artist. You have to admit it does happen all the time especially in the United States. That is why a lot of men are opting out of marriage in this country. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. it's just the way it is. Peace over drama. Self preservation over slander. owning what is mine instead of being owned.

Relatively easy way for them to make money if they get monetized. Not a lot of opportunities for work even for college educated filapinas.
