All of my friends are "Non-Gamers", so we tend to play a lot of party style games on our game nights. We're having people over tonight, and we're going to play some Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, Decrypto, Night of the Ninja, and Phantom Ink. They're all games we've played with them before that went over really well, so it should be a fun night.

Let's say, hypothetically, that the opening minutes of this video caused a viewer to spill/snort a liquid substance down the front of said viewer's shirt. Who is responsible for the cost of dry cleaning? Excessive hilarity, with no warning whatsoever, comes at a price! (You guys are the best!)

Love your lists. We did a work hangout at a game cafe last night. I was the only "boardgame". We played Skip Bo and Camel Up. You know it's good when everyone asks where to get it afterwards.

I purchased tapple because you recommend it in a past video and what a fabulous recommendation. My 3 college students will play this and really like it. They are in the no gamers category so getting them to play is a big win for me. Love this topic so thank you for covering it.

very good list! Normally these type of intro lists have the same classics on them ' 7 wonders', 'Dixit', 'Codenames' so it was refreshing to see some very different games on here. Also, I'm going to try and find Town 66 because you guys have talked about it a few times now, it seems fun!

Great list, thank you! Codenames is my go to...or junk art. Next level one I can't wait to show my parents is The King Is Dead

I enjoyed this list ! Most of the games I haven’t heard of and they look fun! I was surprised to see Hanabi on this list. While it’s not a complicated strategy level game, I do not try to teach it to people that aren’t normally boardgamers.

Horrified is my number one pick. Cooperative games work especially well for people who were traumatized as a kid by overly-competitive boardgaming siblings. I have also found LLAMA to be a great step up from Uno.

The games that seem to be the quickest reaches and go over the best in my experience have been dice throne and project L. Dice throne is a little complicated but everyone knows Yahtzee so generally they may need help for a round or two but then in no time they’re whooping me. Project L is just simple and fun and a game that it doesn’t seem to matter win or lose people just enjoy
@FostertheMeeple Жыл бұрын
Project L is a good call-out. However I’ve had it be a bit of a miss introducing it to some friends! But like always, not every game is gonna be a hit

Century Spice Road, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, Azul, Imhotep, One Night Werewolf, Skull, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Fun Facts are some I use. Now question - how to you meet a woman so beautiful playing board games? The board game groups i go to are mostly male and nerdy.

Tracy: "No, I wouldn't. Not for a billion doll hairs." Kenneth: "I'm sorry, did you say, 'doll hairs'?" Tracy: "Yeah, they're not worth nothing. You could probably sell them to a doll company and get maybe $40,000 for them."

Warning to future viewers: This video contains multiple instances of streamlined shenanigans. (As for the gaming question, I've had great success with Cascadia. Basic mechanic of the game is easy to grasp, people like the nature theme, there's a sense of creating something beautiful at the end, and it's pretty forgiving.)

Why bother about what games to get for your friends who don't like board games? Get games you love and that your friends who do like board games will love. Then, maybe you can convince a non-gamer friend to join you and your other friends for a game night and maybe they'll like it. But to buy games specifically for non-gamers seems like a waste of time and money to me. That said, the best party game for large groups of people gamers and non gamers alike...cosmic encounter
@FostertheMeeple Жыл бұрын
I think you missed the point. This isn’t a list for people who don’t like board games. It’s a list of board games to introduce to people. Also, I’d never use cosmic encounter for non gamers. But to each their own.
