“Smila’s sense of snow” by Peter Hoeg is an amazing winter book if u haven’t read it yet. Also the “Migrations” by Charlotte McConaghy. What i am currently reading is “fifteen million years in Antarctica” by Rebecca Priestley. It’s promising!

When you were telling about The Snow Geese, my first thought was 'that sounds like The Wonderful Adventures of Nils for a grown-up audience' (Nils is a book by Selma Lagerlöf written for Swedish children) - and then your last book was by Selma Lagerlöf herself! I loved Nils when I read it as a kid! His journey with the snow geese is more direct, as he gets shrunk to tiny size and gets to ride on their backs as they migrate north.

I’ve just bought The Land in Winter, looking forward to that. Winter books I would recommend are: Woman in the Polar Night by Christiane Ritter The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy

I have been thinking about reading The Winter Soldier ever since I finished North Woods, and your description only made me more eager to do so. Also quite keen to read the new Andrew Miller novel. It sounds wonderful. And so does vanilla chai tea!

Hi Eric! I read the Winter Soldier by Daniel Mason and absolutely loved it. His writing is so resonant. I also read his book The Piano tuner (loved this one even more). I am gifting Small things like these (Claire Keegan) which I believe is also a good winter read.

Stillicide is a brilliant, bite-sized book. I still think about it often and have mentioned it to you a couple of times. You really should read it. Incredibly impactful.

I'll be curious as to your opinion of Cecil Dreeme - I read it 7 years ago and found it fascinating. Mine is one of only a handful of reviews of it on Goodreads.

I have just collected 'The Land in Winter' from the library, and am really looking forward to this one, I picked up a hard back copy of Andrew Miller's ' Slowworm' from the charity shop recently, and will read that one soon, the first chapter is really good. Also 'The Winter Soldier' sounds wonderful, I loved North Woods very much, so can't wait to read mor by Daniel Mason also..

Read Stillicide based off Simon Savage ( I feel I misspelled that ) review & mannn it was disturbingly believable. Climate ( future non ) fiction is my most read genre . I’m like that’s good and bad it’s its own genre …. Blahdiggityblah 📖 🪱 💚
