For anyone who doesn’t have an autumn season it ends on 21st December this year so u have nearly two months left. I’m from London so we get all 4 seasons which I love and autumn is my favourite season. I think it’s the perfect temperature when it begins and the leaves changing colour and falling it just beautiful to me. I think so many people appreciate the warmer months and their correlating seasons like spring and summer for new life and summer fun and often forget the beauty that is in autumn and winter too. We are blessed to experience such varied seasons even when ur wet from rain or cold in the winter or too hot in the summer it’s good to take a minute to just appreciate the beauty of our world, it really is amazing. Great video. Hope u all have many good reading months to come.

Mort was my first Discworld novel as well and I loved it! I read it last december. I have read a lot more Discworld novels now and Death is still one of my favourite characters. I highly recommend reading Hogfather around Christmas.

Totally agree about One Dark Window - I read that in October, and am definitely getting to the sequel this month for another dose of gothic-y Autumn vibes! 🍁🍂

THANK YOU for informing me of the sequel to Vera Wong, I'm now SUPER excited! It's more summer feeling, but because you like Vera Wong and the Veronica Speedwell series, you NEED to read "Killers of a Certain Age" by Deanna Raybourn. It's about 4 60-year-old female assassins who are supposed to be retiring...but end up trying to figure out why they have a hit on them. It's the best of both worlds, and there's one particular joke towards the end about an app that had me DYING. This one is more spooky fall, but "The Gravekeeper Series" by Darcy Coates is also SO good. I binge read books 1-3 in about 2 weeks (would have been more like 1 week if it hadn't been my ebook commuting read) and I'm desperately waiting for my hold on libby for #4 to come out. The series is creepy, funny (Zoe is the BEST), and seems to have a really nice slow-burn romance going on. Plus, each book picks up almost exactly where the last one left off, so not a lot of exposition catch-up in the beginning. I also recommend "The Scholomance" trilogy by Naomi Novik. School setting, magic, danger, and supreme amounts of sarcasm.

Mel have you read The One by Jonathan Mars?? If you enjoyed the Push, you would LOVE The One, and the subsequent novels: The Marriage Act, and The Family Affair (which came out this year). Lots of psychological horror and ethical questions!

🍁 🍂 🥧 A few books that I think are great for fall are: starling house by Alix E. Harrow, How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry, The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston, How To Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin, The Walls Around us by Nova Ren Suma, and a Botanists Guide to Parties and Poisons by Kate Khavari.

In Arizona we barely have a fall. Next thing we know it’s gonna be winter. It’s like we only have SUMMER and then WiNTeR. Which is why I chose to get married this month. Yesterday we took our 8 and 4 year old trick-or-treating for the first time! Ok back to watching you.

My hot take is that mysteries, horrors, and thrillers are best suited for winter. Something about reading something spooky while it’s dark and raining/snowing outside hits better for me
