This was a good list, Heinrich! I will add a skill that I rarely see mentioned. Based on my experience across different types and sizes of organisations, from S&P 500 companies, to consulting and startups, I find likability to be a top skill for progression. Being likable and knowing when and with who to (constructively) disagree with can break or make one's trajectory. Indeed, following the list you created makes sense. Doing good work is important, usually after a certain level you stop seeing those issues (bad e-mails, not properly named files etc.) - the game is transformed to less output based and more politics driven (not always, but you know what I mean). Great content as always, thanks!

I would add to always clarify if you don't understand something and don't be the person who waits and wastes time by working on something that's is wrong since you didn't clarify any misconceptions you had. Also try to finish things and learn how to say no.

Think it's key to give compliments as well. There is no soul in the world that does not like it. By giving people compliments you recognize their added value and thank them for instance for getting you a piece of data or information. Best to do it in public with their manager around or team members. I try to make sure we celebrate enough accomplishments within our team too. Its easy to work hard and then when it's done move on to quick to the next assignment. Try to take a moment and enjoy the fact you delivered a top notch product for your director or manager. Dont need to be something huge.

I feel the company question my loyalty. How to make to feel them that I am loyal ? Of course I am not loyal and will jump the boat for better job. Never stop applying.

Hey Heinrich, I was curious about your opinion on a German FH bachelor's degree. Is it still possible to get into consulting with a German FH bachelor's degree? And if it would negatively impact the chances, would getting a master degree from a regular university, perhaps even a more prestigious one like HSG or WHU make up for the FH bachelor? I am looking forward to your response.

Hi Heinrich! How do you change your mindset from being a problem talker vs problem solver? Ive recently had the inner thought that im not a huge high agency problem solver person at times, but i want to change that. Overall ive been successful in thr workplace but ive met some people that really seem driven and natural problem solvers

Your list is accurate in a professional environment. The reality of American business is that professionalism has been replaced by strategy. In this environment, the advice for personal success is the opposite.

What the point to providing solution for your employer, if you are such a person that is knowledgeable and capable to really solve problems, then just ditch the 9 to 5 job and start your own business solving problems for your clients.

Not everyone is interested in having his own business. Maybe you need money now and can’t afford to wait, maybe you just enjoy the freedom that being an employee gives you… I’ve seen my parents scarifying their lives for their business, I prefer to have a stable job and be free to switch whenever I want.

Reality is MOST businesses fail, most will starve if they go out on their own. Plus, imagine a world where everyone is an entrepreneur? Not sustainable and not reality
