An advice a friend once told me when you feel that imposter syndrome: Even in the case that you are really incompetent for the job it isn't your fault - after all, at the moment of hiring highly paid recruiters who knew the job requirements much better than you decided that you would be a good fit - so if there's anyone to blame, it would be the recruiters, not yourself.

I don't think he's talking about the individual person in a ROLE being responsible for the end tocend application of the product, ie Software Engineer. Instead he's talking about the organisation having that experience and knowledge of product functioning and performing in application. 😊

Steve Jobs is so convincing. However, if the Big 4, MBB, boutique consultants, and so many other firms are individually and collectively making billions every year under the large consulting services umbrella, what explains this demand for their services? Individual consumers can still be fooled by manufacturers by their marketing campaigns and minor tweaks to the same product each year, but the clients for consulting firms are commercial entities with all their sophistication and penchant for efficiencies. If the output is no good and ownership is negligible, what explains the existence of consulting firms?

In my opinion, companies should provide employees with access to qualified psychologists in their medical packages, but employing a "mental couch" in a company is a waste of the company's money and the employees' time.
@FirmLearning26 күн бұрын
What’s your rationale for this? I have benefited a lot from working with coaches throughout my career.
@michazieba26 күн бұрын
@@FirmLearning Maybe I have bad experiences and associations, because usually the "couch people" I came across (in person and on the internet) were incompetent people who were not specialists in their field (e.g. they were not psychologists) and they just tried to give the impression of professionalism and commitment. Meanwhile, they only cared about getting as much money as possible.
@FirmLearning25 күн бұрын
