Is that first lady living on her own? It looks like she could borrow a relatively small amount and divide the house up into 2 flats, and have some income coming in, to cover rates, etc. Edit: Just saw her daughter has moved back. I wonder if she will sell the car to enable her to buy 2 secondhand cars, so she and daughter both have cars. She appears to be very self sacrificing. I just worry in these American stories, if people working near 70 are still working to pay off hospital costs that would be free in many 1st world, wealthy countries.

Most people of that age work for one of two reasons: 1) they're addicted to work. 2) when they start drawing they're retirement/ss benefits, it's only a fraction of what they've made for 20+ yrs on the job!
