I'm a 52-year-old male. I was put on TRT 7 years ago. Sex Drive, Erections, Energy Level, Mood all improved within a few weeks of starting. I was very obese during this period (6'3 and 365 lbs.). Then, 3 years ago, I put in the work and created the discipline to start working out (cardio/weights 6 days per week) and watching what I ate (caloric deficit and protein target). It was the combination of TRT, diet, and exercise that really transformed me. Today, I've lost almost 100 pounds of bodyfat, I can run an 8 min mile, bench 315, and see my abs for the first time in 20 years. TRT alone won't do that. It took work to accomplish what I did. However, I do think without TRT I wouldn't have had the energy or the drive to start this journey. I'm never going back!

John, if your picture is fairly recent, you seem to be a young man. I don't know why you are concerned with testosterone levels. You first need to check your FREE testosterone and if it is below, say, 15 -16 ng/dL, then take action. If you are below the age of 55 - 60y.o. your first step should be to take Clomid. A study has shown that a daily dose of 25 mg clomiphene citrate (CC), taken for at least 3 months is effective in stimulating the endogenous testosterone production. Clomiphene (Clomid) is much cheaper than testosterone, it stimulates your body to make its own testosterone naturally and in a lot of cases, after a course of Clomiphene (again, minimum 3 months) men do not need to take it anymore. On the other hand, testosterone is a forever-treatment. One has to keep taking testosterone, it is expensive to buy and it definitely leads to testicular dystrophy. If, however, you HAVE to take testosterone, make sure you take the nasal spray kind, because it's shown to have least side effects - the injectible testosterone thickens your blood and increases the risk of cardiac events like stroke and heart attack. Good luck! 🍀

One thing overlooked with guys who were low-t for years is that due to lack of nocturnal erections, morning wood, and normal erections occurring via sexual interest, you’re weakening your pelvic floor muscles because you’re not using them. So expecting TRT alone to improve it that rapidly, when it’s taken years to weaken the muscles, is just unreasonable. In my experience, tadalafil helped a lot, it allowed me to get fully hard, and from there I could easily strengthen my pelvic floor muscles because it’s easy to tell that I’m activating them.

Hey great post and good info. Oh absolutely. TRT with a little tadalafil is the winning ticket if you have been out of the morning wood game for awhile. It last about (3) days around the clock so its very convenient for those spontaneous moments. Morning wood to the max! I absolutely love it. I was so excited my first round , I played the air guitar with my boner the first morning like I did when I was like 10. I'm 53.....bernernernerner!!!!

Well looking too big may be subjective. Adding lean mass or even looking more lean may make your muscles looking bigger. Trying to stay lean may help you not look too big with your clothes on at least. TRT is about improving health and wellness so this should be your biggest priority.

Being ripped to hell without even trying is one way to fix low t depression! Every time I take a shower, I'm like, wow! 🤩👌 I'm getting spots on my tummy where there is no fat and you can really see abs. Fat repositioning is so awesome. I am now three weeks in on starting again, but for some reason, I’m still getting no benefits I feel like total shit I can barely work. I feel like my body is shut down. I’m getting headaches nausea but the fatigue is the worse. And my heartbeat is crazy . I know there’s an adjustment period But it’s never been like this! What the fuck is going on? I would say too much estrogen because at first I accidentally took too much test but I’m not getting titties. I’m not crying all the time… I just feel very fatigued and have a headache. What can that be? and how can I get rid of it right away?! PS my libido felt much better right away, I get an erection so easy.

Thank you for this video. It’s refreshing to listen to a video wherein two calm, articulate men are intelligently discussing this topic. There are far too many videos of pedantic and dogmatic gym bros or know it all health professionals blathering on about “the right way” to do TRT. I especially appreciate you bringing up the point that putting on muscle mass in your neck can unmask or precipitate sleep apnea. I saw exactly such a patient at a year interval who’d hit the gym hard and beefed up remarkably. He was delighted with his muscle mass but I recognized why he was feeling tired beyond what one would expect from the gym routine. He ended up needing COAP treatment.

I've been on TRT for about 7 months now. Before TRT my test was at 345. I'm on 850mg a week now my level is around 1100. The clinic I'm going to told me once a week. But I kinda felt energy dropping around 5 days after shot. So I started playing around with the frequency of my shots and found that if I split the dose in 3 doses per week my energy and mental clarity are pretty constant. So 3 times a week seems to be the sweet spot for me. I Findley have the energy to hit the gym and be productive at work ( I'm a maintenance guy in a factory ). The thing that used to bum me out was that I'm friends with the owner of the gym and have a free membership for life and still didn't go. Now I'm back in the gym at least 3 days a week. I'll stick with TRT for as long as It works for me.

Well it depends where you are in the world and how much time you want to waste. You can start with the GP who has a good chance of knowing very little about TRT and who may rob you off or worse send you to an endocrinologist who may be hostile to TRT even though studies now demonstrate TRT causes no more Cardiovascular harm than the placebo in the study. So your best option is visiting a TRT clinic like balancemyhormones.co.uk in the UK or similar clinic in USA. Have a look at our other videos where we interviewed doctors from the USA.

I’ve been on Clomid and a thyroid medication for past 30 days and definitely noticed health improvements overall. My test level was 549 but I felt like crap everyday. Ignore the numbers. How do you feel? Are you having these symptoms of low energy, poor sleep depressed, tired, low sex drive, slowed weight loss but fast weight gain, carb cravings, etcetera and that’s just to name a few. If you answered yes to most or all of these trt may be for you but contact your physician about a consult. Be warned that if your doctor makes a determination based off your numbers as compared to your symptoms then you may have to ignore his opinion and deal with a clinic. I have a consult Tuesday about actually going on the trt injections. I’ll be 51 in September and can’t imagine living out the rest of my life feeling as I did a few months ago prior to beginning a trt regimen. I hope this helps and keep me posted on your decision. Good luck.

There are a variety of tests and 2 tests are needed to confirm Testosterone deficiency. You can't make a diagnosis on one test and symptoms alone. All the tests should have Total Testosterone, calculated Free, SHBG, Albumin which is used for the calculation. Free T assays tend to be unreliable unless they are done with LC-MS-MS. For a list of all of our tests visit our site: balancemyhormones.co.uk/trt-testing/

@balancemyhormones
@balancemyhormones Жыл бұрын
Not every man experiences an increase in red blood cells wher it becomes an issue. It is true that testosterone will increase it as this is a good thing if you are anemic which men who have low testosterone can be. But if you have other co-morbidities like sleep apnea or undiagnosed sleep apnea then you may be mroe prone to this increase in Blood thickness haematocrit, and a rise in haemoglobin and red blood cell count. Not every man experiences this, in fact only a minority of men experience this where it requires action from we we have seen.

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that TRT can increase penis size in adult men. 300 is a low level and was once considered low by reference ranges. In fact in 1996 levels less than 400/450 were considered low. So TRT will provide you with the testosterone your body needs. @balancemyhormones Жыл бұрын
Hi Med1090, starting on a 200mg dose every two weeks is quite a common protocol for the 1960s to the early 2000s but modern TRT would not have such long periods between injections. It's worth mentioning that this might not be ideal for everyone due to potential hormonal swings. A more frequent injection schedule, say, every 5-7 days, can help maintain steadier testosterone levels, reducing the likelihood of experiencing highs and lows. Everyone's body reacts differently, so please discuss this with your doctor. Regular follow-ups are important to monitor your response and adjust dosage or frequency if necessary. Best of luck with your treatment.

Went on TRT in 2016, 80 nL/dL. At that time PSA was a healthy 1.6. Now, in 2023, my PSA is 4.4. Had an MRI with contrast which revealed an enlarged prostate at 96cc, which is 5X the size of a normal healthy prostate. I’m mostly vegetarian, consuming mostly organic, I eat poultry several times a month. I never smoked, never drank, never did recreational drugs. There is no doubt TRT caused my prostate enlargement, putting me at risk for cancer.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with prostate enlargement. It's important to understand that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can have side effects, including prostate enlargement. However, it's also important to note that BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) is a common condition that affects many men as they age, regardless of TRT usage. BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) itself does not cause or lead to prostate cancer. Your history of being mostly vegetarian and consuming organic foods, as well as never smoking or drinking, is a positive factor in reducing your overall risk of prostate cancer. However, it's important to continue to monitor your prostate health regularly and discuss any concerns with your doctor. In addition to monitoring your prostate health, there are other lifestyle changes that may help manage symptoms of BPH, such as exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and reducing stress. Your doctor may also recommend medications or other treatments to manage BPH symptoms. Overall, it's important to have open and honest communication with your healthcare provider about your concerns and any potential risks associated with TRT. They can help you make informed decisions about your prostate health and overall well-being.

Your diet isn’t helping you. Animal fat is essential for human health, eating some chicken muscle meat a few times a month isn’t doing anything. You need to be eating steak, fat, organs.

What about semen volume ? Im just about to start trt without hcg Will my orgasms and ejaculations be significantly less . Fertility isn’t a concern , I don’t care about that , just want to enjoy sex

Orgasm should be unaffected. Some men report slightly less volume others no difference. Semen appearance (colour thickness) can vary even with men not on TRT.

I notice my blood pressure is now out of range in 140/80 instead of under 120/80. Does the increase in bp from trt go up temporarily and then go back down or does it often stay somewhat elevated ?
@balancemyhormones

Hi NorthCountry, it's not uncommon for blood pressure to vary throughout the day and due to different circumstances. It's important to monitor it consistently, especially if you've noticed a change since starting TRT. As for TRT's effects on blood pressure, while some individuals might experience a temporary increase initially, research suggests that appropriate, long-term TRT may have beneficial effects. A study in the Journal of the American Heart Association (2016) found that men with testosterone deficiency and treated appropriately with TRT had reduced risks of cardiovascular events. Testosterone can help with vasodilation (the widening of blood vessels) and promote the production of nitric oxide, both of which can support healthy blood pressure levels. However, everyone's response to TRT can be different, so regular monitoring and open communication with your healthcare provider is essential. Here's the link to the study mentioned: [insert link here] (Note: As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, I can't provide a direct link). Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice. Reference: Corona G, Rastrelli G, Di Pasquale G, Sforza A, Mannucci E, Maggi M. I read that cancer feeds on test…..so does that not up you chances of it being worse if you did happen to get cancer.? I’m 41, very healthy, eat well and lift, as I like to look good and it’s the best way for me to stay happy etc, but my energy and sex drive especially have dropped a lot in the last year or so. I still have all my hair but would HATE if I went bald. You think I should try trt.? Baldness runs in my mum’s side of the fam but I’m the only one who still has a full head of hair. Thanks for these videos guy….

Recent studies have shown low testosterone may be linked with greater risk of more malignant forms of prostate cancer. If you have cancer many things can cause it to grow further even angiogenesis or vessel growth to feed the tumour can assist it. Dr Morgataler has proposed the saturation model for androgens and prostate cancer so additional testosterone will not cause unlimited growth in cancer.

1 they pharma companies changed the blood pressure cloresteral levels a decade ago or so... they 2X-3X upped their profit immediately. It’s not to be trusted the new levels imo. That said... occasional 24-72 hours fasts make a difference to over all healing and balance.

I’ve been on for 3 months. Total T is at 706. Was 91 when I started. I’m 36 y/o male. I’ve only noticed the following: -Sex drive -Better erections -Less sore after working out I’ve not noticed any energy levels or mood changing. Still dealing with brain fog. My Endocrinologist said if I haven’t noticed it by now then the testosterone is not causing those other symptoms. Can I still notice improvements past the 3 month mark ?
