Super cheap is carpet foam. In highschool, it only sounded like a loud stereo outside our garage. It wasn't that bad, considering the foam was taken from a dumpster

Gatekeeping KZbin likes/dislikes? Maybe someone doesn’t have time. Maybe they dislike it so much that they don’t have time to leave a comment. Maybe if this guy would’ve taken less than the 40 minutes this felt like to give the info, I would’ve had time to articulate all of the reasons I don’t like it. Heck, maybe I don’t dislike it. Maybe I even liked it. Do you take the offense to those whom “liked” it, but did not articulate all of the reasons why?

You know what, fuck it. I watched the rest of this video and I gotta say, I’m absolutely stunned at the approximately 14% of folks who disliked this vid. Here’s why. He started me off slow, damn near put me to sleep by the time he even got to the curtain method, kept droning on and on. Then he hit me with the moving blanket hack, and he started reeling me in just a tad. Little did I know we’d be getting action shots of caulking of “uniform but random” patterns on 5/8” drywall by the 12 minute mark. I’m glad I hung in there, it was a wild ride from novice to experienced DIY sound proofing. A nice touch would’ve been to add some text on the screen at various points with the NRR value or some other metric of sound absorption. Really would’ve added some validity to the overall presentation. Oh. And shorten the fucking thing. 15 minutes could’ve been 7 or less.

Sir. I have a metal fabrication workshop. There is a continuous noise of shearing, grinding etc. It emitts a lot of noise to the neighborhood. The workshop is covered with clay brick wall on all sides and has a door on one side. How do I reduce the noise to maximum like 80-90%. Hoping for a quick solution from your side. Thank you

Hi there, I’m a voiceover professional that is renting a house creating my office/studio in the garage. I’d really like a finished look to the walls vs feeling like I’m in a garage. Is there a way to put up insulation and drywall without permanently affixing to the walls? Thanks!

I'm going to be building a garage to work on my car and I will have an air compressor and tools and I'm trying not to annoy the neighbors with noise so during installation is there a particular type of Windows Doors I should buy or something I should use when installing the windows and doors and is there a type of insulation I can use or something I can put in the wall with the insulation and about how much would that cost compared to regular insulation
@soundproofguide
@soundproofguide 4 жыл бұрын
Good question, if you're going to be using your compressor regularly then I would suggest a double or triple pane window. This will help block the noise of the compressor. If you're only going to be using the compressor once in a while I would suggest something like noise deadening curtains. This will help a bit but not as much as the double pane. Something people don't think about often is to place things on the walls to deaden the echo in the garage. A compressor sounds a lot louder while operating in a garage because of the echo. You can even put acoustic panels on the walls to help with echos. Hope this helps!

@@soundproofguide I'd probably plan on using a double or triple pane window anyways for insulation purposes and I'm going to have an insulated garage door which will help is there any Pacific door I should use is there something I can put in the wall that would serve as insulation and sound dampening or something I can put in the wall with the insulation I will be using the garage to work on my car girlfriend cars on some other people's cars sometimes I made try to work at night so I would prefer regular walls without putting additional stuff on the outside of the wall just trying to keep from making noise and annoy the neighbors and maybe might complain I'm planning on with the next year or less buying a house and having my garage built the way I wanted instead of having one part of the house

Their not ads, they are simply a product that a lot of people use. Would you have a product in mind that we could test that would be something like green glue? There are a lot of sealants but I don’t know if there are a lot of competitors making the compound.

Riiiight, you all just happen to use the exact same stock footage and have an un-opened tube sitting at your desk... If you use it so much wheres all the empty tubes you could be showing off? Few ppl are using that stuff, its absurdly expensive, not to mention drywall is $10+ a sheet now. Could literally build a staggered stud wall for the same or less.
