Glad to see the Mazda 6 MPS on the list. I had one and it was great and contrary to some opinions, I never had any issues. Always a bit partial to an estate as well as saloons.

The 2005 S60T5 wasn't 200bhp, it was nearly 260bhp, and was around 6.5 secs 0-60. Mid range was a beast. I had one as a company car. They could also be chipped easily for a @£200 to update power equivalent to the police pursuit vehicles.

Maintenance and repairs will say otherwsie 😂😂
@ApothecaryTerry9 ай бұрын
@@joaorodrigues_coachingMeh - I had an IS250 for 4 years, spent a total of £0 on repairs. Maintenance and running costs were just what you'd expect from any 2.5L V6, nothing crazy. Of my 7 cars (all daily drivers), the 2nd most expensive for maintenance and repairs was the Fiat Punto, 8 years old when I bought it. The Porsche cost a little more, but it also only depreciated by 7% in 3 years/20k miles, whereas the Fiat depreciated 113% since I had to pay someone to get rid of the thing. However, while I'm suggesting you can have fun and/or luxury on the cheap - your point is certainly a reasonable one, since it's fairly rare and tricky to find. Fun on the cheap is easy: Fiesta, Swift, etc. Luxury though, yeah that's often a money pit. Still, Lexus have that covered. There is a risk though, they're so relaxing that I owned 3 and, perhaps coincidentally, right as I sold the last one, 2 cardiologists described my blood pressure as "disturbingly low" and told me to go to McDonalds, true story 😁 They didn't say it was due to Lexus ownership, but who needs sensible causality on the internet anyway.

Thanks for another great vid JB. My favourite class is a convertible/cabriolet/spyder, call it them what you will! I love the feeling of the wind rushing over my bald head....I like the bmw, one of the better looking ones in my opinion but you must specify the expensive driving etiquette optional extra........Indicators.........Not many can afford that.....Like the Audi & thanks for pointing out the problems which future owners my have, the timing chain tensioners are an engine out option (£5k). I like the Jaaaag, bit old school that could kick ass. The bushes & bits...simple.....All the best to you & Simba....

I’ve always thought that coupes are the best cars in terms of looks. Though now having a family I’ve found that I’m looking more at saloons and estates for the practicality and SUVs for the added ride height. I think saloons would be my favourite cars

Surprised you didn't include the Saab 95 Aero in this list( 250bhp un-tuned). I had one for about 6 years, great performance, good safety and ergonomically pleasing "aircraft" style interior.

They are also dirt cheap, have good fuel economy for the performance level, and are very tunable.

I have a Jaguar S type R and a Volvo S60 T5. Both great sleeper q cars. The 2.3 5cl volvo was 250 bhp as standard and it needs to be a manual as the autos were trouble. Mine has had a remap and is 300bhp and 300ftlb of torque. My Jag has had a pulley upgrade and is 440bhp and 460 ftlb of torque. Both cars put a smile on my face as they are both old mans cars but you should never underestimate an old man in a Jag or Volvo 😂

Definitely the Audi s4 as the best and agree the cabriolet a better option as value for money as they are even cheaper. I’ve owned mine for a while and selling it, and enjoyed it so much and sad to see it go, but true the running cost is what makes me decide to sell it on as a daily driver too expensive to run Great vid

@@JP-cu2gm I looked at JAA 4G, JAA 44G and JAA 444G - regtransfers says not currently registered but they reckon they'll win auction for prices of £5k, 3.5k and 2k respectively. At this price I'll just get one with my surname on but it would be cool and not a huge expense if I did monthly finance. But at the end of the day, it's just a number plate and I'll have to buy another Jag after this to make it worthwhile 😆

@ApothecaryTerry9 ай бұрын
Favourite car class: these. Fast saloons are just great. I can get excited about any car that's appropriate for the job though, or to put that another way: anything that isn't an SUV, because having a poorly-positioned centre of mass will always be stupid. Did love my IS250 SR, might be the car I owned for the longest. Wouldn't say it had insane performance by any means, but decent enough. Was just an all round good car - in 4 years I literally just replaced fluids, brakes and tyres (although it got through tyres quicker than any other car I've owned...maybe I drove it quite hard). The rear legroom was a downside though, if you were a passenger. As a driver though, hearing "ah you f***er" every time you touch the throttle was too hilarious to be a downside. Always wanted a Mazda6 MPS, but their reliability means the S4 is the right car to pick from this list, although the Lexus is so relaxing to own that I'd always recommend one.

To be honest as an owner of an alfa 159, the 3.2 is a horrible car. Boring, front heavy front wheel drive with an Opel engine which is very lazy to say the least. It’s a beautiful car though, but as a “car guy” it wasn’t a good choice. I will change it for sure very soon.
