It's the same kind of coin that we use in Europe. It's well known that the value, in terms of kind of metal used to make this coin, is cheaper than the "money value," of the coin. For example, a piece of 1€ is made , for the centre, by superposing 3 layers of metal : cupronickel, nickel, cupronickel. And the ring around the coin is made of brass. So the real value of the metal used is less than 1€. I know that these coins are the government property, from a legal standpoint... but what if you lose that 1€ coin while walking in the nature ??

The money in your pocket is your property. The only right we don't have with money is to make copies. You can do whatever you want with your money, buy something, bury it in your garden, send it to your friend on the other side of the planet, or do what millions of people around the world do when they throw coins into the sea for good luck. It's a stupid thing to throw money into the ocean for some future good luck. It's a stupid thing, but we all want good luck 🙂
