Why don’t you take your subscribers advice and turn their tank into a black water habitat? You’ve never kept that species before whereas other people have.

The tanks look lovely but it’s frustrating hearing you keep saying about the Channa being shy. Just leave them to it they’re doing what Channa do which is hide a lot. To make them happy rather than you you should add loads of plants. I kept my Channa tanks like water jungles and never really changed water etc but they bred and looked really happy I always found they eat or shredded anything I added

@@MicksFishUk good idea surprised you can keep anything in there with them. Back in the early 90s when we could keep snakeheads here in the US I used to have a really large and mean guy can't remember the species. But would devour anything in the tank with him including big fish like Oscars Red devils even had a alligator gar jump out trying to get away from him. They were his tankmates he just went rogue one day. And then a few years later he decided he had enough and jumped out of the tank while I was away needless to say you didn't make it.. they have really cool personalities it's unfortunate we can't have them over here anymore. Beautiful fish take care of them. Also I think most Corydoras top spine is venomous or poisonous not sure which, but definitely fatal if swallowed.

Nice to see you getting into the Snakeheads Mick, you know Alan already and he is a serious encyclopaedia of knowledge on these fish! Tank is looking great but two snakeheads in one tank are always a recipe for trouble. Usually you either keep a single specimen or a group of five to spread the aggression. They may not fight now but its never a 100% truce between them and many snakehead keepers wake up to see one of their fish floating and torn up, even after they have been living together peacefully for months. Would monitor very closely how the two interact. Anyway, great video and love to see the progress.

Use a strong magnet to pick the aqua soil off the sand bud. I use a 'telescopic magnetic pick up tool' with a few larger neodymium magnets stuck on the end.

I have the same food that I feed my silver arowana and he loves the stuff. Pretty expensive stuff but it lasts a while and is the best food I’ve ever used

Hi mate, I' am considering changing the method I do my water changes. I used to do it with buckets, which isn't the easiest way. I use to add dechlorinator to every bucket before puring the water to the tank. I am now thinking of putting the water straight from my tap to the tank, therefore my question is: should i add the de-chlorinator after purring the water to the tank or before ?
@MicksFishUk2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate I add my water primer as soon as I turn the tap on for the new water. 👍🏻

Mick that water conditioner is a lot like Seachem Prime in that it has binders to make Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate safe.. for emergencies this type of conditioner is fantastic and could save your livestock and tank from a crash, however for day to day or monthly maintenance this type of conditioner is NOT beneficial as it can potentially starve the bacteria growing in the tank and filters, also setting up new tanks this type of conditioner can stall or re-start a nitrogen cycle. Concentrate chemicals have their place but for general duties where no problems are occurring a conditioner that JUST removes Chlorine and chloramines removes harmful heavy metals and introduces vitamins to help with stress relief and slime coats is the most beneficial. At the moment your monster tank is heavily stocked and you have stated that your waterchanges help reduce ammonia so I can understand why you use what you use but this shouldn’t be a long term solution. Mick I’m not throwing shade at your channel or achievements, I’m only giving you another healthier option for your hobby and fish room.. take care mate your tanks do look amazing

The bass look like peacocks. You may wake up one day and only have the two snakeheads in that tank. They look almost big enough to eat the tetras you added.
