@@knowledgeberakah1728 My daughter was OFFLOADED by Philippine Immigration when she was about to leave for Thailand, saying her papers were "lacking" and she has to come back the next day to give the lacking papers. What's more, we were in in Tarlac City & hired a car to take us to the airport, plus she already paid for the EXIT FEE and the TRAVEL TAX. We had to get the plane's 50% refund for her trip. Nakakainis talaga ang Immigration natin - puro OFFLOAD ang alam, hindi na iniisip ang hirap ng ibang Filipino na ginagawa lang ang pagbiyahe para makapamasyal at siguro para maka-punta rin sa ibang bansa. Laging sinasabing baka daw ma-victim siya ng human trafficking eh kaibigan naman nya nag-invite sa kanya sa Thailand.

The problem with the Philippines is the rampant corruption and the fact that it’s not that easy to get any long term visa. In the flip side, as long as you leave at the end of your visa, you can return the next day by taking a visa run up to HK or BKK.

Consider the ongoing Climate changes. Increasing temperatures in some areas and the increase in strength and frequency of storms. What is the political stability? What are the transportation options? How handicap accessible is it? Internet? What is the religious climate? How are women treated?

Reality check….crime in Costa Rica is TERRIBLE. Also any resident there with money will bypass the free public medical care in favor of private medical which requires out of pocket costs. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately I had a near death medical crisis while vacationing in Costa Rica. No more travel to third world countries for me

Most of the information is outdated. You can't find a 1bd apt in chiang mai for less than $700. Portugal is the same. 1bd in Lisbon is €900 or more.

That’s because the USA is a corporation. People who live in California have to pay an exit tax to move from the state. A lot of them can’t afford it, hence the homeless problem in California.

If you concentrate on crime, don’t. I live in New York City and I have been here for 45 years. Crime % is minimal if you consider there are 15,000,000 people here on any given day including commuters and tourists. Just be smart.

As a native Panamanian, I can guarantee you that Americans will need a visa to visit or stay there. The only way you would avoid the visa requirement is if you either hold both an American and Panamanian citizenship or you get married to a Panamanian.

A big but mostly ignored issue is smoking laws. I tried out Portugal 2 years ago. I enjoyed both Lisbon and the Algarve, but the smoking was awful and within 5 days, my histamines were rioting.
