I worked as OFW in executive positions in bank and industrial investment firm in Saudi Arabia for 36 yrs, survived two Gulf Wars, now retired. Am so grateful for the hospitality accorded to Filipinos in that country. There is no place better than living in one's own country, the Philippines, but we can improve the political landscape by choosing the right leaders.

I love reading these posts from Filipinos all around the world and how they're living in said countries. My dad used to say, "There's not a corner in the world where there's no Chinese." I think the Filipinos are the same now. Except, i think for the most part, the Filipinos are probably more successful than the Chinese because of the Filipinos ability to read, speak and understand English. Filipinos are very brave.

To be perfectly frank, the 10 ten most welcoming countries to Filipinos mentioned here is not the same ranking as WHAT COUNTRIES FILIPINOS PREFER TO LIVE and work in. If Filipinos have to choose, or have the opportunity to be granted residency, I can dare say they would choose the UNITED STATES and CANADA in that order as their TOP CHOICES to live in. The rest of the 8 is a shuffle and a toss up. To any Filipino, or any citizen for that matter, there is the American Dream or the Canadian Dream. You will rarely hear otherwise.

Come to Pahrump Nevada kaibigan ko. Small patriotic fairly quiet town. Almost everybody here is armed so we don't have the crime problem you have in communist California. You can work in Vegas if you have to like many of us do. And there's about 140,000 Filipinos in southern Nevada. Many of whom are friends and acquaintances of mine. There are many Filipinos in this town and I love to see them. Several of them work at Walmart 🙂 and the Arms Corporation of the Philippines has a facility here in Pahrump and of course the cost of living is nothing like it is in California and this is a much better place to bring a family. 🇺🇲💖🇵🇭

TO WORK = only just because these countries need Filipino skills & talents. In short, they need workers. TO LIVE = Only those Filipinos who have the means and money to immigrate. TO STUDY = Again, only those who have money. JUST VISIT = those countries who dont require VISA ENTRY for Filipinos, or those countries who have a more relax visa application. These countries are "real more welcoming".

I wondered about the ratings as well. As a Filipino American raised in Hawaii and now living in California it seems like the US should be #1; my cousins are all over this country. It is by far the country with the most Filipinos; in Hawaii alone Filipinos are the majority of all the foreign ethnicities. I have relatives in Australia, Canada, Spain, Austria, and Italy so I think you're right.

I'm a Filipino and have worked in the middle east for 20 years, and now live in Canada for 20 years. Middle eastern countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar welcome Filipinos as workers but has no equal rights and opportunities like their citizens. I became a Canadian citizen 3 years after I and my family landed as an immigrant. I went to the US many times and see a lot of Filipino Americans everywhere. You can see Filipino politicians in the government of USA and Canada, but I know none in Hongkong or Singapore. I think the sequence of ranking should rank either Canada or USA as number one

I'm a pinoy living in Canada for 35years. Now, it would be very hard for newcomers here in Canada to survive due to very high cost of living. Not unless you are in high salary profession, (not cleaning or care giving shit) you will find it very hard to make ends meet here.

You have a good list of countries but the US should be in the top 3 instead of the UK. I have lived in the UK for 5 years and now an American Citizen, I can easily say that the US is like a second home to me. The UK is still discriminatory in many ways and they still retain a lot of their old ways especially the natives! Fact.

I don't think so about middle east. They like Filipino workers because they paid cheap (*modern slavery*) and Filipino worker works very hard. Filipino worker encounter salary discrimination and (racism) many Arab people look down of many Filipino. And it's true many Filipino working in Middle East despite of the challenges and circumstances.

@@robertnavarrete3044it is possible here in the USA to establish that quick! When my family arrived here in The USA in 1992, we have secured a job immediately in 2 weeks then we bought our house in 3 years. I paid for my College and I joined the US Army, so I can have more funds for College. In a nutshell, American dream is still possible, but you have to chase it and work for it. It’s not a hand-out!
