Shaq's connection to the NBA Finals. Every year since 1984, at least one participant in the Finals included a former teammate of O'Neal's (or himself for that matter obviously). Below are years and a few examples. 1984-Greg Kite 1985-Byron Scott, AC Green 1986-Greg Kite 1987-Byron Scott, AC Green 1988-Byron Scott, AC Green 1989-Byron Scott, AC Green 1990-Dennis Rodman 1991-Horace Grant 1992-Horace Grant 1993-Horace Grant 1994-Robert Horry 1995-Robert Horry, Himself 1996-Dennis Rodman, Ron Harper 1997-Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone 1998-Karl Malone, Ron Harper 1999-Steve Kerr 2000-Kobe Bryant, Himself 2001-Rick Fox, Himself 2002-Derek Fisher, Himself 2003-Steve Kerr 2004-Luke Walton, Himself 2005-Robert Horry 2006-Dwyane Wade, Himself 2007-LeBron James, Robert Horry 2008-Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett 2009-Paul Pierce, Derek Fisher 2010-Ray Allen, Luke Walton 2011-LeBron James, Dwyane Wade 2012-Dwyane Wade, LeBron James 2013-LeBron James, Ray Allen 2014-Dwyane Wade, LeBron James 2015-LeBron James 2016-LeBron James 2017-LeBron James 2018-LeBron James As long as LeBron keeps making it, the streak will remain intact.

A lot of these guys hadn't played with Shaq yet on the dates you're listing their finals appearances for the earlier ones, but still pretty long.

dirtaylulu The fact of the matter is they were his teammates at a point in time.
@dirtaylulu6 жыл бұрын
I mean, you can't claim the Finals had a former teammate of Shaq when the Finals happens 8 years before they were ever teammates.... you could say every Finals since 1984 had some player that Shaq came across at some point in his career maybe?
@aarod946 жыл бұрын
dirtaylulu I see your point I suppose the way I worded it could be misconstrued, if I could I'd say a player who Shaq played alongside at some point in his career. Either way, I think this would have been a great addition to their video, am I right?
@dirtaylulu6 жыл бұрын
Yea it would fit the video I mean it's pretty interesting, 34 years in a row to have someone Shaq played with at some point in his career in the Finals is kinda crazy. I'm curious if thats the longest streak ever? I would imagine it might be.

My favorite is that the NFC featured 10 straight different teams in the Super Bowl in the same chronological decade (the 2000s, from '01-'02 to '10-'11) In order, it was the Rams, Buccaneers, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, Bears, Giants, Cardinals, Saints, Packers.
@victorplayer73266 жыл бұрын
Better yet! what was crazy about the NFC 13 championships, the Last AFC champion was the Raiders before the streak started the MVP was Marcus Allen. Then the streak ended with Terrell Davis as the MVP. Both running backs and both attended the same High School and played for the same coach.

When the Patriots won the Super Bowl against Atlanta, CHECK THESE NUMBERS OUT. 1. The game was played on February 5th, 2017. The 5th day of the 2nd month, it just happened to be their 7th appearance in the Super Bowl in the Brady-Belichick era (5+2 = 7) and their 10th appearance in the Super Bowl in franchise history (5x2 = 10). 2. 2017 was also the year where The Patriots won their 20th AFC East Title and 8th AFC Championship (1+7 = 8), en route to their 10th appearance in the Superbowl. The numbers in 2017 add up to 10. 3. The Pats were down 28-3, exactly a 25 point spread, when they began their comeback. Again the numbers 2 and 5 reappear. 4. This was also Super Bowl 51. The Patriots won the Super Bowl in the 5th quarter on 1 drive (the opening possession), and won the game by 6. 5. 5 Super Bowls in 7 appearances. 5+7 = 12, the number on Brady's back. They scored 34 points. 3+4 = 7, 3x4 = 12 (Brady again).

Also, Bill Elliott won most popular driver more times than any driver has as well as all being in a row. Since Chases rookie year, he has won Most popular driver each year so far.

More Coincidences: NFL Players in the 70's named Jack. I.E. Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Jack Tatum, Jack Youngblood. Great Linebackers being drafted from Penn State Great O-Line from university of Michigan Nolan Ryan Striking Out Seven Pairs of Fathers & Sons. Okay that one is not a coincidence. That's just incredible. No New York Sports Teams are named after animals. (Excluding Buffalo) Quarterbacks who have been multiple time Superbowl MVP's have all worn double digit jersey numbers. Only SIX NFL MVP's have been Superbowl MVP in the same season.

The 13 year streak for the NFC in the Superbowl, 1985-1997. The best part to highlight about this goes all the way back to the merger when the NFL had this attitude that the AFL wouldn't be able to cut it. It took only until SB3 for Broadway Joe to silence the critics, and the Chiefs, Colts, Dolphins, Steelers and Raiders kept their mouths permanently shut. So imagine if that 13 year streak had happened in the 60s into the 70s. It would have freakin *DESTROYED the NFL.*

Another sports coincidence I know about is the coincidence that Tottenham Hotspur would only win the FA Cup soccer tournament in England in years that ended with a 1. The last victory for the Spurs was in 1991 when they beat Nottingham Forest, coached by the legendary Brian Clough, 2-1. Their winning goal was scored in the 94th minute by Forest's Des Walker, who scored an own goal by beating Spurs' Gary Mabbutt to the ball and diverting it past Walker's own goalkeeper, Mark Crossley, into Forest's net.

Joe Theismann broke his right tibia andfibula on Nov. 18, 1985 in a game in Washington that ended 23-21. The only three-time Defensive Player of the Year Lawrence Taylor was involved in the injury, which occurred around the 40-yard line. Theismann’s Pro Bowl left tackle, Joe Jacoby, wasn’t on the field due to injury. Alex Smith broke his right tibia and fibula on Nov. 18, 2018 in a game in Washington that ended 23-21. I have two for the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry: 1) In the last four years ending in 6, an unranked Georgia team has beaten a ranked Auburn team. 1986: Georgia at #8 Auburn, W, 20-16. 1996: Georgia at #20 Auburn, W, 56-49. This was the first overtime game in the SEC. 2006: Georgia at #5 Auburn, W, 37-15. Auburn probably pooh-poohed Georgia, and Auburn's QB was injured. 2016: Georgia at home vs. #9 Auburn, W, 13-7. The 2016 game shows another trend that has been happening recently in Georgia-Auburn football. Since 2011, if the first score is an Auburn touchdown, with one exception, Georgia not only won the game, but also held Auburn scoreless after that touchdown. 2011: First score is an Auburn touchdown; Georgia win 45-7. 2014: First score is an Auburn touchdown, Georgia win 34-7 in Todd Gurley's return 2016: First score is an Auburn touchdown; Georgia win 13-7 2017 SEC Championship: First score is an Auburn touchdown; Georgia win 28-7 after forcing a fumble in the end zone when Auburn look to go up 14-0 and block an easy field-goal attempt later on.
