Parents dragged me on an old ass cruise ship when I was about 11 in 2001. Hit a really rough storm during the night and legit people thought we were going to die. Almost everybody came out of their rooms and gathered at the centre of the ship where the rocking wasn’t as bad but even then everyone’s faces were still terrified, people were throwing up left and right it was a horror show. Scarred me pretty bad and now the sea terrifies me. I’ll never get on a cruise ship again.

The people protesting because their itinerary was changed to remove Iceland are just plain stupid. Even if you manage to dock during a Hurricane what do you think you are going to do? Just trot off on your shore excursions? 🤦‍♀️ During a Hurricane when you are on land everything just completely shut down. People die during hurricanes which have made land from flying debris. Last place you want to be is out in the ocean at the mercy of the winds. Boats go out to sea fleeing from hurricanes.

Like if a flight has to turn around half way through they're still obligated to give you a flight to your destination or a full refund plus comp. Cruises should not be any different.

It's my understanding those cabins aren't that far above the water line so it doesn't take an unusually tall wave or listing to one side for that level to be swamped with water. It is the norm more or less that being submerged is accepted as "part of the adventure" signing on to a cabin on that particular level or lower. I feel sure the designers kept this in mind with the windows having extra built in strength to repeatedly withstand the force & temporary pressure they might be exposed to..

People are so ignorant, ships are the most ancient yet safest transportation before any other form of transportation came along, they have the least accidents and the highest survival rate, unlike planes, planes may also have few accidents, but when they do, deaths is almost always guaranteed for ALL passengers, survival rate for planes is very low, land transportation is 50/50, it has more accidents than any other form of transportation, BUT while their survival rate is lower than ships it is still higher than planes, so if you ask me, I say plane transportation is the most dangerous because when they do have an accident it's almost always a guaranteed journey to kicking the bucket

Nah, smells like any other hotel generally. In port might be stinky (gas, sewage, etc...) and outside might smell oceany but inside is typically just fine. I only stay on the spa floor though. Can't speak to those lower deck heathens.
