I was wondering if they'd put it on the list. With some creativity you could be able to use such a spell to kill somebody. For example you levitate him high up and then drop him to the ground or you levitate him into space so he couldn't breathe anymore. Or you levitate his shoues, which will turn him upside down and then you drop him on his head...

The spell is not that powerful. Unless you've got something decently heavy but not too heavy (otherwise you wouldn't be able to perform the charm) it's pretty useless in an offensive term.

The most dangerous spell is protego diabolica. It was used by grindelwald in the climax of the 2nd fantastic beasts. It creates a flame and if touched by any enemy of the caster they would die. It also acts likes a fiendfyre but a 100 times most powerful. If it wasnt stopped it would have destroyed all of Paris. This is another reason why Grindelwald was more powerful than Voldemort.

Adarsh B S Oh even Crucio can be escaped. Bellatrix escaped Harry's, then she gave him a tip. Anyway, the Cruciatus Curse cannot directly kill. The Longbottoms are exposed to the curse for a LONG TIME and by FOUR CASTERS (Bella, Rodolfus, Rhabastan, and Barty Jr.) but they are still alive. Even Harry and Hermione experienced the curse.

Its simple. Crucio is the torture curse and basically fires off pain receptors of almost every nerve in your body driving you insane pretty quick, but it is used for torture so what would the use be if the creators made it deadly as torture is usually to get information or for some sadistic pleasure. Crucio unlike Imperio does not even indirectly kill your target it unless they thrash onto something sharp or hit their head and crack open their skull.

I don't think Harry ever blocked Avada Kedavra? It was the others fighting the Death Eaters who were protected because Harry sacrificed himself (the ultimate protection spell) for everyone. Which means he gave everyone the same protection his mother gave him when he was a baby, because he essentially died for them. I don't think he actually 'blocked it' technically (with like Protego or anything). At the end he gives Voldemort a chance to repent, and Voldemort casts the killing curse. Harry then casts Expelliarmus at Voldemort and catches the Elder Wand, and the Avada Kedavra Voldemort fired at Harry rebounds and kills him instead.

The cruciatus curse is non-lethal. The only way it could kill you is if you have a heart attack or something, but not the spell itself.

The spells sound like latin and some words really are, but half of them just sound like latin and thats it.Just to name a few: Avada Kedavra - not latin, Reducto - actually latin but means backwards (so definitely not the intent of the spell), Imperio - latin but also not the intent of the spell, Morsmorde - that doesn´t even sound latin Serpensortia - not latin

They aren't dead. The prerequisite for something to be deadly is that it has to have the potential to kill. The Cruciatus, no matter how much you use it, can not kill you. It is possible for multiple factors to work together, such as a weak heart and the Cruciatus to cause heart failure, but most wizards and witches are unaffected by mundane diseases. That isn't to say that the Cruciatus Curse isn't a damaging spell, both to the psyche of the caster and that of the target, but it isn't deadly.
