Great video as always! The GLA series makes me genuinely angry at how pointless and ugly they are. You get an A series, except worse in every way apart from you can go over slightly taller speedbumps I suppose? And they are just vile looking cars, up there with the Ford Puma and any BMW "cross coupe" in terms of visual appeal. Just buy a normal A series! Or even better, buy an RS3 hatch or M140i with the 3.0 and you get something a bit more interesting than a 4 banger!

Does a GLA actually have any better ground clearance? To be fair though, I think the GLA is actually a little better proportioned than that gen of A class. Admittedly, context is important here - what I'm saying is, I find the A Class ugly both inside and out, whereas the GLA is very slightly less ugly on the outside but I wouldn't buy either, even with someone else's money.

Just putting it out there that the Panamera lost the 1 road test I could find where it went up against a GS450h 😁 Admittedly that was a Panamera hybrid, but performance was basically the 1 thing it didn't lose at anyway. From this list, the ISF is great since it's affordable to run and sounds awesome, but it is a bit dated now. An F80 M3 is the one from this list I reckon - the interior materials look and feel like something I'd expect from a Dacia, iDrive is hugely overrated, they sound like crap and are too lairy to push on a public road. However, they do have good tech, are generally very decent to drive, you can get mid-40s MPG from them on a run (got 44 on my M4 comp test drive) and should be reasonable reliable too. It's hard not to think though, that with a higher budget I bought a 1.6L Peugeot over all these 🤣 Admittedly, that says more about me than the car, although none of these can alternate between understeer and oversteer as perfectly as that thing. Once I get past the new car thing, I'll stop banging on about the Pug though, probably - I sold my GS450h 3 years ago and already stopped going on about...ah.

B8 s4/s5.(3.0t) Can be had for well under £10k. I saw a scabby high miler sell for 3,999 about 2 months ago. Can get a decent 1 for 8k. Take it to mrc with £2500 and you end up with a 450+bhp, awd, 4 door saloon/estate. 👍

Lexus IS250: Solid, very reliable, comfy, sounds decent / Not hugely fun, has to be auto (manuals exist, but they're rare and not good). Mini R56: Hugely fun, best mod potential if you want that / Unreliable... Kia ProCeed GT: Reliable, reasonably fun, well equipped, practical / Not especially interesting. Pug 208 GTi: As fun as the Mini / Below-average reliability (but nowhere near Mini bad). If you really want "bang" for your buck though, get an old Jag, S Class, 7 series, etc. That way you'll get a huge bang when the engine inevitably blows up within a week 🤣 All those 4, plus a few others, would be decent choices depending on what you're really after. Only the Lexus would be >10 years old - at that age there are other options too, but reliability starts to really depend on condition. Just don't buy a car without test driving at least 4-5 options, plus research reliability, costs, etc. Otherwise, you know you'll park next to something and think "damn, should I have bought that instead?" which is not what anyone wants...

Most batteries degrade very gradually provided they don't spend long at 100% or 0% charge. Kinda like the battery in your phone x10,000

i'd take the C7 RS6, it has aged beautifully IMO and my father used to own a C7 A6 when they first came out. Nobody makes estates like audi does!

Have we really reached a point where people are recommending computer-generated voices over people instead of the other way around? Also, they're not AI - nothing intelligent about text-to-speech at this point. If it was writing the script and researching the video too, then AI is relevant, but for those tasks current "AI" is also stupid so that would be a bad plan.

@@Stealt707 JB definitely does talk fast, but the solution is just talk a bit slower. TTS voices are much better than they used to be, but still pretty bad and generally irritating. Not only that, but it's a really lazy way of doing videos and loses a lot of the integrity since you'd never know the content is coming from a person. Then we're into the murky realms of possibly AI-generated content - rather than my saying much about that, Kyle Hill did a video on the "science" channels using it. Essentially, I can't see any way in which TTS is a good solution, but of course I agree that JB could speak a little slower. It's a simple problem that doesn't need a computational solution 😄
