Oh my gosh I remember digimon links and rerises! I actually took screen shots on my phone of my favorite digimons from both games when thsy where shutting down. Some include the digimons you talk about in this video. Man I miss both of those games and hope thay get reference at some point.

A Digimon varient I'd like to see come back but probably won't is the White Lopmon from Xros Wars. I think it has the anime outing and a single card but that's it. I think the concept of a Lopmon, which already has a mass of Holy potential, that is imbued with "immense" Holy energy is a neat concept that could be explored a little more That one Red Ladydevimon varient, too, there was no explanation for her to my memory but she'd make a great pre evolution for the Mutant Lilithmon

Recolours have always been such a fun fascination for me. Especially when they become their own thing. I never knew the mobile games had so many different re-colours, and some are pretty cool. Thank you for bring them to light. I legit love the mutant Demon Lords. Like some mention, they look like they could be ‘purified’ versions where they now work for the side of good. Maybe becoming ‘The Seven Redeemed Lorda’ and they embody the virtues opposite to their vices.

White Alphamon, Black Magnamon and all mutant Digimon should become official variants, they are really cool and they deserve it, overall there should be more variants, they give more choices when making evolution lines and are just great. I hope TIME AFTER TIME will activate.

Might be more likely the Mutant variants get referenced for some Volcanicdramon deck. Could be interesting if they become "officialized" as some kind of "Servants of Deletion" group. No doubt a ton to question with the Seven Great Demon Lords, one of the Three Gods of *Destruction,* and another GoD's counterpart, like those are temporarily "purified" forms for when mass deletion is needed. Volcanicdramon might need a jogress at that point though.

Damn, BlackMagnamon NEEDS to become it's own thing. It works just way too well as the continuation of a pure Exveemon evolution line, maybe a an ultimate like Rapidmon leading into Black Imperialdramon, or even better, a whole new mega for Veemon. I'd love to see that happen.

It really does have that Rapidmon feel to it. Considering that Rapidmon has a normal green variant and a golden armor version, it would make sense if the Blackmagnamon was the normal evolution version. By that logic, I guess it'd also just be called Magnamon, same as Rapidmon.

White Alphamon could come back as Alphamon Saint Mode or something and start a white line of the Royal Knights with Omnimon Merciful Mode and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode

I don't know if you'd consider it the same, but a gold variant Guardromon appears as a possible digivolution in Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory; there's also a sidequest in there that centers around a Solarmon wanting to digivolve into a gold Guardromon.

Looking at the VR Digimon it is sort of interesting how everyone tries to do "evil Digimon" differently. Which is funny because I personally feel Digimon nailed evil Digimon on the first try when SkullGreymon was created. It's a much eviler version of an already existing Digimon and would make a perfect boss character in any game. Obviously pallet swaps and the like are easier to create "Darker" versions of existing Digimon, especially when you're making a game. Which is sort of why we have the Black variants of Digimon. It does make me wonder what it would be like to have a full on evil SkullGreymon line. Like rather than a BlackAgumon we had a SkullAgumon or instead of BlackWarGreymon we had SkullWarGreymon, etc. And the same for the other Black variant Digimon.

I made an evolution line like that ages ago. Maybe I'll post my art somewhere someday. -Agumon(grave): a black agumon variant with a headlamp and shovel weapon. Spends its days digging for the junk data left behind by deleted digimon to eat. -Ungreymon: a green skinned zombie-like greymon with boney armor plating on its body and a skull over its head. Like its wearing its skeleton on the outside basically. A savage being whos only desire is to consume the data of other digimon. -Skullgreymon. -Lichgreymon: A skeletal wargreymon variant that wears black chrome digizoid armor under a dark cloak and wields a staff made from black chrome digizoid topped with a titamon skull. A dark digimon from witchelny who mastered a forbidden dark magic that it tried to use for world conquest. It was defeated then sealed away in the digital worlds dark area by medievaldukemon.

Hey Karn, I think you may have missed it because it was done by the spanish speaking LatAm Digimon community, but a Digituber named Drash from Re-World D did a MASSIVE push for Magnamon Black that got it trending with a lot of fanarts, custom Model Kits and even got in touch with the people making Digimon Online and was super close to making it appear officially in the game, but the developers said that they reached out to Bandai but didn't give them permission to implement him because of some copyright related stuff which is exceedingly stupid. And as for variants from early games, I really wish they brought back the grey Weedmon who was still called Zassomon back in DW1 and the Card Battle game, it's super different from the modern green Weedmon and they could even bring back the Zasso name for it.

Black Magnamon also immediately gave me Imperialdramon Vibes with the Black & Gold armor with the Blue & White digimon underneath. I could really see it being the Veemon equivalent to Rapidmon.

I recently found out because of the partner quiz video that the evil version of Seraphimon is actually named Black Seraphimon and not Shadow Seraphimon. This is because I always associate the name "Black Seraphimon" to the one with the black armor and red wings who hasn't been seen since Digimon World 3.

Black seraphimon and shadow seraphimon are actually different digimon their both evil versions but black seraphimon is only in digimon world 3 while shadow is in frontier and the adventure 2020 and tcg or it a case where black seraphimon was redesigned and renamed into shadow seraphimon and that became the original evil seraphimon

I've always thought that the Digimon World design for Guardromon could represent what the digimon looked like before it was infected with the computer virus that gives it its Virus attribute. Maybe make it could be a Data or Vaccine version of Guardromon.

4:19 Well, the changes caused by the X-antibody manifest in a variety of ways that the Wikimon article for X-antibody explains with examples. The most mundane ones being the type that alters the posture of digimon like Metalgarurumon X standing upright and the one where digimon get new armaments (including body parts) like Leomon X getting a second sword and armor.

I love metal digimon with white, red, or write & red colour schemes like a lot of the ones you showed here. You should make a series of videos where you take these forgotten variants and give them a digivolution line. Maybe with fan recolours of some of the earlier digimon just to make the transition that much smoother.

There was an old digimon game for the wonder swan that tried something in a digimon gane I've never seen since. Each species of digimon could be a Virus, Data, or Vaccine attribute. With subtle changes to the sprites for each of them. Sometimes the virus attributes would be the black versions. Unfortunately, the game was so light on mechanics to take advantage of that, that the idea (And the game) fell into memory.

BlackMagnamon really reminds me of Imperialdramon. It kind of feels like it could serve as a purebred version of ExVeemon's final evolutionary stage that doesn't rely on external factors like Jogress or Digimentals to reach the power of a Mega.

To add my two cents for some viewer interaction, one minor color variant I like that we'll never see again comes from that treasure trove of alternate palettes, Digimon World 3 - Specifically that game's black recolor of Seraphimon, which is completely different from the proper, standalone Black Seraphimon. The odds are very slim any of DW3's palette swaps will show up again, but they're probably slimmest for Seraphimon for that very reason.

Just for referencing VR troopers randomly that deserves a yea from me lol. I don't remember much of the show but I do remember the theme song. For some reason it's super catchy. As for all these different variants that will never see again it is very sad that we're never gonna see these things again and especially for the final 2. You think that they would come back in one of the later games but no and I still am pretty sad that will never even see that red Lillthmon, such a shame. Regardless, great job with the video Karn as always!

I think the anniversary recolor of Rasenmon needs to be a thing. It was in ReArise, and had the color scheme of Rasenmon Fury Mode

Magnamon(Black) should be a Perfect that evolves from XV-mon and directly into Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. Maybe add on a pair of wings so he doesn't go wings>no wings>wings. Of those mutant Digimon, I feel like there's a decent chance of Sequoiamon showing up again, they _have_ been putting Kyuubimon(Silver) and Taomon(Silver) in games lately and they really need and Ultimate and she matches. I kind of assumed Solarmon evolved into Mekanorimon originally, and Guardromon(Gold) more recently. I actually never realized Guardromon's design changed(pretty sure this variant was also used in Digimon World 1) since I've never seen the two designs side-by-side or in rapid succession before. There's also the recolors of the playable Digimon from Digimon Rumble Arena. Personally I like the blue Agumon from Rumble Arena as Zeromaru's Child level since it's implied that he evolved from an Agumon.

I realy like all your videos, would love to see a video where you give the Four Great Dragons an alternative humanoid form. like megidramon = ChaosGallantmon. An idea would be to give the other dragons forms that represent other roleplaying classes of video games since ChaosGallantmon is like a tank/knight. my idea would be as an healer/priestess (Magnadramon), spellcaster/mage (Azulongmon) and fistfighter/monk (Goldramon)

Two variants I feel should be added to this list. First is LadyDevimon (Red) from Xros Wars, can you imagine if that and Lilithmon (Mutant) both got recognized again? They would be perfect to fit into an evolution line together with Witchmon. Second is Shamanmon (Brown) in the old Ps1 games similar to the Gaurdromon variant on this list there was also a Shamanmon that was brown. I always thought it was sad we never saw that design again because Shamanmon is already a variant of Goblimon, it is just a different shade of green now. Not only does Shamanmon (Brown) fix that, but it makes a great pre evolution to Grumblemon and Gigasmon being essentially a brown Goblinmon.

The Red LadyDevimon from Xross wars would be the perfect digimon to serve as Mutant Lillithmon Ultimate level. If they actually give Red LadyDevimon a level and reference section but she will probably be lost to time. Mikemon would be the Champion level and Meicoomon's Unnamed Rookie Form for the Rookie.

mutant lilthmon is such a good design it could be seen as the middle stage of ophanimon before it's fully corrupted by lust, the blonde hair not yet turning black but the process has begun. or a lilthmon who is not a part of the seven sins, a more chaotic natural digimon.

Big agree on the rearise and mutant digimon, although honestly I'd put white alphamon and black magnamon higher than more greymon/garurumon digimon. I have such an attachment to the recolors in digimon rumble arena though! Similar to battle spirits 2 I can understand why they aren't considered their own Digimon (although interestingly, I'm pretty sure the red beelzemon might be a homage to Rumble Arena? I'm really hoping we'll at least see black magnamon in the future - after black imperialdramon was given an outing, I have a bit more hope for that.

Might be more likely the Mutant variants get referenced for some Volcanicdramon deck. Could be interesting if they become "officialized" as some kind of "Servants of Deletion" group. No doubt a ton to question with the Seven Great Demon Lords, one of the Three Gods of *Destruction,* and another GoD's counterpart, like those are temporarily "purified" forms for when mass deletion is needed. Volcanicdramon might need a jogress at that point though. 7:49 Mon, that Dorbickmon DigiXros.

I actually used to think Alphamon was normally white, because the only image I'd seen of it was on a card I had where they just made it super light gray. I was taken aback when I saw it in Cyber Sleuth.

Mutant Lillithmon looks like she should have a canon line involving Witchmon. Same with Mutant Dianamon looking like it should be involved with the even more niche Pyontomon.

Since we're talking recolors already, there's apparently a red LadyDevimon used in Xros Wars that'd be perfect (pun intended) to go between Witchmon & Mutant Lilithmon.

I am still hoping a new worldwide digimon mobile game. I love rearise.. that game really refreshed my interest in the whole series, and now id say it is my favorite franchise. Thanks for the vid Karn

Hope we see the Mutant Digimon again in mainline Digimon Story and World games. I also hope we see the Purple designs of Imperialdramon DM and FM from Digimon Adventure Tri in games as well.

Okay yeah these are super cool, and I agree I’d love to see stuff like the mutant recolours and ReArise recolours canonized in the reference book. I wonder if it’d increase their odds of Bandai were willing to change their names; like name the black Mangaman just BlackMagnamon, or have the gold Omnimon be christened Omnimon G-shift. Make their inclusion feel less lazy? Not that I really care about the ‘lazy factor’ of recolours; to me they’re just us getting more Digimon. And y’know, I actually don’t think I’m that alone in this either. If we got Mutant Belphemon in the reference book, I think we’d see a good portion of people considering its potential as a Manticoremon Mega more than anything.
