For us the top one is CONTENT, followed by good quality images (video) and sound, personally, I do not watch a video with bad quality (video must be HD or above) regarding content I watched last June CNN business interviewing the CEO of Google he said the way youtube suggest video now will change a lot, they are working to suggest just good videos (good content videos) how they will do that, we have to wait, I do not link that interview here because youtube will spam it. Cool

Hey Sean, great video as usual! I have a question about B-roll; recently I noticed that here on Think Media and on Video influencers, you started to use short movie footage like Godfather, Dumb and Dumber etc but I know that fare use is very risky to do, so I'm surprised that you do it, did you find a way to do it safely? Like a secure Stock video website or something? It would be great if I could do the same but I really don't want to risk a strike or worse... Thanks for all your advice, you and Benji have been a tremendous help for me and my channel.
@ImmortalJeremy5 жыл бұрын
You can use very small clips usually. Like
@EpicCardboardProps5 жыл бұрын
@@ImmortalJeremy Thank you ImmortalJremy. But are you really sur about the 5 secondes rule? I heard from KZbinr like Rob Wilson (Vidiq), Tim Schmoyer or even Sean and Benji I think that a time limit to use copyrighted content was more like a mythe, unless you use faire use like you said by transforming the footage or something but it's very risky.

1:38 I've found that a thrift store had way better tripods than the $15-20 tripod I bought from Wal-mart. The thrift store tripods were a lot sturdier for my gh2. One time, I wanted to do a 4-5 camera angle shot for a cooking video, and those 3-4 tripods from a thrift store came in handy. I not sure that this would fit for Think Media's brand, but it would be interesting to see how one could film a video using equipment gained from a thrift store.

Great tips. I'm trying to step up my editing. I think a teleprompter would help me a lot. When I wing it, I forget to add little things that would have added value to the video. Then I end up doing a retake and wasting time.
@MforLife5 жыл бұрын
Great video! 👍 The most important thing for me is that the videos are interesting, varied and entertaining. I have still one question. How long should videos be? Maybe a maximum of 10 minutes?
@ImmortalJeremy5 жыл бұрын
It really depends. All I'm really qualified to speak on is gaming and I watch anything from 10 minutes to 30 long
@ThinkMediaTV5 жыл бұрын
Great question. Videos should be as long as it takes to get the information out to your audience. Be clear, be concise and get your point across. If that's 2 minutes, great! If it's 20, that's great. Your viewer's/audience are looking for answers to their questions and that's where you come in to deliver value to them! 👊 💯

Music has always been a really hard thing for me to figure out. I don't want to pick copyrighted music obviously, but I also don't want to pick copyright free music that everyone else is using in their videos. I have seen channels do this, and it just makes the quality of the content seem much lower.

No joke, before I start recording a video, I set the A/C as low as possible for an hour or so. Then once it's at a desired temperature where it's cool enough to record, then I'll turn the A/C off. But it's all time-sensitive from here on out. I am competing against the clock before my place starts to get warm. I live in South Florida where it's constantly summer all year round so it can get hot real quick if that A/C isn't on. And it takes me awhile to record and complete one video (e.g., 30+ takes / 2 hours), and the lights are all up on my face, beaming and making me start to sweat. I even have a cool wet towel just to wipe off the sweat and keep me cool. All this to say that teleprompter idea is genius for me (that will save me some time). I'm looking to invest in one soon. I'm tired of sweating just to make a video people!

I must say I would group audio with - or higher than - lighting and a tripod in terms of importance. As long as it’s not pitch black, I’ll watch a dimly-lit video that may also be shaky. But if the sound is garbage or if you’re 20’ away and barely audible through the on-camera mic, I’ll probably stop watching. My hearing isn’t what it once was so the audio means a lot to me. Per your recommendation I picked up the Boya lav mic for $20ish and I feel it makes a huge difference. Caught a Zoom H1n on a good sale at B&H but if not for that I’d be perfectly happy plugging the mic into my phone to record separate audio. Don’t need a crazy audio interface or a ton of effort to get a noticeable increase in vocal quality.
