Naw. Shorts don't pay anything. One long form video can pay you tens of thousands of dollars with 1 million views. Depending on your niche , cpm/rpm. That same video in a short will pay you maybe a hundred bucks. Subscribers also don't mean anything after 1,000 and you're in the YTPP. It's all about views and multiple streams of income on the platform. I'm making more money with only 2k subs than others in my niche with 100k subs. If all you care about is getting massive amounts of subs for cloute, sure make shorts. If you care about making money and building a community....make long form content.

I think what makes me strong is forcing myself to make tons of mistakes, learning from them, and strategizing how I will approach similar situations in the future so I don't make the same mistakes again. Knowing that making mistakes is just part of life gives me the courage to get out of my comfort zone many times because I will never learn something new if I'm so afraid of fucking up. In fact, I recently joined a toastmaster club. This weekend, I'll be in front of a small group of people to give my 1st speech on stage, which scares the hell out of me but that's ok. I know that fear is part of life but it's all about having the courage to overcome fears.

It shouldn't be hard at all, recording a simple video is all you need, but influencers have convinced you that without fancy editing and graphics, you'll never stand out. Look at Joe Rogan, he uses no fancy editing and he talks for 3 straight hours and its the #1 podcast in the country. He's basic, and people love it! People today are trying to hard to impress people vs being someone of actual value for people to gravitate to. Be interesting, have something to bring to the table that is unique to you, but that takes being secure with who you are and most people aren't.

Learn the craft- oh how true! We started our channel after someone watched an unedited home video! For me it’s learning a new skill and I’m loving it. All our film and pictures over three years is totally amateur as a personal record of an adventure through a change in life. Now it’s becoming a story. this is so different from any other KZbin advice video I've seen in the same genre but something about the way you explain it, the relationship analogy and really breaking it down in the number of videos, it really helped in stick in my ADHD brain and inspire me a lot more, as opposed to other videos who really just hammer down on niche and staying consistent and making high quality content. thank you!

Probably the best video about this subject ever.... I quit KZbin some time ago but I'll be starting a new channel soon. I've been doing yt for 7 years by now, very small niche, old skateboarders.... but I can relate to everything you said. Now I needed some gas to get going again and I'm realising I could do way more. The consistency part is definitely the hardest part after getting past those first few videos and finding a niche. Genuine Question for all the other small KZbinrs, how do you rearrange your schedules to edit or videos? or do you care more about creating consistent content than focusing on quality?

It's the most difficult part for me as well... it is not easy at all. Sometimes I will stay up all night to edit and publish it. Sometimes, if I can't finish a good video, I will make a different one first, with inferior quality. So I have more time to finish the "good" one. I am trying to publish 2 videos every month and so far I've suceeded (4 videos this year). How about you?

Thanks for this video - I started my KZbin journey two years ago and crossed 80k\month NET profit with two major channels. However I do notice lately that all the KZbinrs rather keep the real methods to themselves. I understood that after reading an eBook. No one is talking on how to outrank competitors, how to gain additional traffic outside YT, how to do proper off site SEO for additional exposure etc...
