@@ChineseHerbalPantry I've picked up pointers from watching numerous YT videos such as yours, and from having Chinese medicine. Sometimes I buy a packet of herbs from a Chinese grocer and learn as I go. I keep a range of good quality sauces to make a variety of dishes. Home made stock with veggies and or bones and black vinegars add great flavour. I make my herbal teas in a small thermos and let it sit to bring out more flavour. We enjoy peach gum and the snow fungus with dried pear desserts.

HI @Julian, so happy to hear that you are into Chinese herbal teas since a young age! They are yummy, aren't they? I learned Chinese herbs when I was very young too. 😊Welcome to this wonderful herbal world. Some youths in Asia have less interest and I am so happy to see your enthusiasm. Feel free to reach out anytime if any question. Love to give you all my support 😊

Thank you for the explanation of the ingredients and properties. I go to a TCM practitioner but she doesn't explain anything. I believe she's a 3rd generation practitioner so she assumes everything is common knowledge. I've been scolded a few times when I went to see her after suffering from bad health so the information on how every ingredient has heat/cold/neutral properties is very informative. Lol, I feel like every time I try to do something good for my health, such as eating salads or incorporating oats or sesame seeds, I have a set back and then she says, "of course you can't eat that with your health condition!'" I keep telling her she needs to make a book explaining what someone with my condition can or cannot eat because I'm not Chinese so this information is not common knowledge to me. Another thing she has said to me is to drink a tea with red peanuts, red beans, goji berry, and dates but to not eat the ingredients, and give the ingredients to my mother or sister to eat. Can you explain the reason behind that? Is it a potency issue?

@konkon705, thank you and I'm so happy that my videos help you to understand more about Chinese medicine. Yeah I understand as I see patients in Australia who are very new to TCM, spending more time to explain is important in my practice. As for your question, as I have no idea about your overall health status, I can't comment. Please ask your TCM practitoiner, hope she will explain to you!

Hi Shirley, it's been so great to watch your videos. I might have missed it, but can I ask are there any times when its a good idea to leave the pits in the jujube? Thanks!

@stacey, it is when you're someone who is not too sensitive to 'warming' herb or if you are experiencing 'cold' signs, you can leave the pits in jujube

I am trying to quit coffee. I have been using Ginseng, Astragalus and Licorice Root Powders in drinks instead of coffee. I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine. Diet, Herbs, Qigong, Taiji. I used to practice Silat and Escrima and still enjoy "playing" sticks, except now I go with Taiji Style Flow.
