One of my biggest life-changing decisions was pursuing early retirement-something that seemed almost impossible when I first started working
@louisahernandez13 күн бұрын
The key to retiring early isn't just about saving aggressively-it's about having the right strategy. Consulting with a financial advisor can provide personalized guidance tailored to your specific goals and timeline, which makes the journey much smoother

1:23 even with industry super some offer a sort of self management. Although for me for what I wanted to invest in, I needed to switch to a SMSF. Last year by taking control myself, it was worth the extra expense.

Appreciate the video. Your point on stopping recontribution of shares got me thinking. I recontribute whenever possible as I haven’t been in the game long and am building my portfolio. Right now I don’t have enough to generate a worthwhile passive income so I’m thinking stopping when it makes sense. Appreciate your thoughts.

great video. curious what is Self Insured? 55yo and looking at cancelling Life Insurance so curious what you meant by Self Insured. thanks for the summary...
@wattlepartners986714 күн бұрын
That's right, self insured just means you are insuring the risk through your own assets, rather than paying a premium to an insurance company.

Thank you for your infomative videos. Should you start a pension if you are over age 65 and still working?

Thanks for watching. This is a very specific question, so best to get some personal advice.

I feel lost now that I'm 39 years old and jobless. With 425,000 saved for an early retirement at age 50, 10,000 in an HSA, and a property that could yield an extra 200,000, what opportunities do I have for passive income?
@AdamWright8fool16 күн бұрын
It makes sense to consider a financial advisor at this stage, but delaying retirement might be a smarter choice

reluctant to search for a job. I'm not sure whether I should merge all of my investing accounts into one. If so, what should I know and how should I respond to this? In addition, I intend to sell my property, which might potentially fetch an additional 200,000. Is it better to put everything in one account or spread it out among several investments?

Well $600K would pay you a simple pension until you are old enough for the OA pension…….

Dont worry about saving because the Labor Party is going to take it all
@johnmellon37916 күн бұрын
How confused are you petal? The Labor party are the ones who introduced superannuation in the 80's. I am retiring this year at 60 years old and every day I thank the Labor party for introducing superannuation. I have plans to travel and enjoy my remaining years. And just as an addition , the Liberal party opposed the super policy when Paul Keating put it through parliament.

Thats the real Labor party...not this half-breed hybrid variety we get these days. I'm a staunch Labor man. But I didn't vote for Albo at last election as I could see he and his party were out of their depth. And 💯 right 😢

@johnmellon379 Every day you thank the Labor Party, that's almost funny.

Yes, super will change, but it will remain by far the best place to have your retirement money.
