What is the best way to use the rust preventer?
@DesTM11 ай бұрын
You can also apply silicone spray on your car door seals. It helps you avoid door freezing in the winter
@Nellis20210 ай бұрын
Silicone sprays contain petroleum distillates which will over time degrade and virtually dissolve the rubber . Use dielectric grease instead. Apply it to a microfiber cloth and spread it onto the rubber surfaces.

Under hood too, in case you will need to jump start the car, so hood won't freeze on the frame

@@Nellis202 one more tip, regardless of the season: make sure the SPARE TIRE psi is correct and inflated, usually it goes on 60 psi, don't find it out that it needs air if you had to put it on car while on the road. Drive safe ✌️

Make sure you keep all those extra items in the back of your trunk for max grip off the line!

Tampa Bay area of FL winter tip: allow your transmission to warm up for 40 seconds instead of 10 seconds before taking off.

Great tips. I may add a reflective vest to use if you’re stranded.

I have a huge problem with my wife's 07 Jetta. Battery drains constantly. When the car is off all night the dash panel and alert dash lights flicker. It clicks as it does that. I've replaced ECU and battery. Still an issue. Is there a way to disconnect the alarm system I believe that could be the issue?
@jeremiahcarroll3573 Жыл бұрын
Check the load on the battery with everything off then using the negative pole pull each fuse and testing the amperage load per fuse slot once you find the one pulling more then it should change the part or just pull the fuse…. A lot of the time it is either the gauge cluster ignition switch or alarm
@auggie5325 күн бұрын
Old comment but you could also see about installing a battery killswitch. I have one for anti-theft (can't hotwire with the battery completely off like that) but it also helps save the car from excessive battery drain when parked.
