Rebeca is also the first gymnast to medal at four events who is not from one of the 3 big countries of women's gymnastics. (URSS/RUS, USA, ROU). Indeed a very impressive feat and puts her among the realness of the sport.

This was one of the best worlds' championships in a LONG TIME. No cursed beam, no injuries, no major interruptions, Simone being back, all the record being broken and history being made, FLAVIA AND REBECA'S MEDALS!!!... this was amazing to watch EDIT: I forgot about Joscelyn's and Jessica G's injuries... wishing them a speedy recovery!

Rebeca also became the first Brazilian to win a WORLD MEDAL ON BEAM, as well as FIRST FROM SOUTH AMERICA TO PODIUM ON BEAM! Brazil's team silver and Flavia's floor bronze were my favorite moments. I have wanted a Worlds medal for her for years and now she has 2! It's true what they say, when Flavia is performing we are all Brazilian. A close second was seeing Simone and Joscelyn call Melanie over to celebrate with them after the team final.

💛💛I was in Antwerp and saw it all LIVE and was completly in awe. Gymnastics for me is an inspiration and I was cheering for all the gymnasts, regardless of country. Indeed there were many FIRSTS and most importantly an ambiance of love and admiration for the sport from all the fans. Some moving moments for me were to hear the anthems of both my nationalities, as both Israel and Germany received GOLD...and yes, the joy of the Brazilian women is indeed infectious...💛💛

Some of my more favorite moments happened off the 'field of play' especially during and after Melanie's team beam routine. During her routine, a Japanese gymnast tried mimicking her 'dance' element that she performed. Also during the routine, Laurent and Cecile took turns coming over to cheer Melanie on while trying to keep an eye on what USA was doing on the floor. After the routine, a French coach went across and hugged Cecile, I guess in appreciation for the work she put in with Melanie that help produced that stunning beam performance that secured France their bronze medal. The other favorite moment for me was when Simone, Rebeca and Flavia were waiting for the award ceremony for floor. In the waiting area, Rebeca apparently asked Simone for something to which Simone said 'no, no, no' but Rebeca said 'yes'. Simone then responded by taking off her 'crown' and placing it on Rebeca's head saying 'you got it' to which they all laughed. Loved the interaction with Flavia too in which Simone responded to something Flavia asked by saying 'I am not able anymore' while holding her back with one hand and a knee with the other like a old woman. These moments made me smile just as much as the competition did.

I first started watching gymnastics in 2015, and although this is my 7th worlds as a gymnastics fan, its by far my favorite, all the events were interesting, it also had a lot of funny moments, i felt the talent and depth was more prevalent than previous years, so many records were broken too.

The 2023 World Championships was magical indeed, but let's not forget about the men (which never get any love), with reigning World and Olympic champion Daiki Hashimoto successfully defending his all-around title, Jake Jarman becoming the first Brit to win a gold medal on vault, and only the 6th British world champion ever (male or female), Rhys McClenaghan defending his world pommel horse title and defeating two-time Olympic champion Max Whitlock, the United States winning its first team medal at World Championships in a decade, as well as having the most diverse team in history with two African-American and two Asian men on the team, Fred Richard becoming the first American all-around medalist since 2010 and the first black all-around medalist, and Khoi Young becoming the first American man to win multiple individual medals at a single championships in 20 years (Paul Hamm 2003).

I love how you take the time to learn each athletes name pronunciation. The commentators saying “Rebecca Andrajee” every time talking about her was grating to my ears. Last year it was “andraday” and I respect that they realized they were wrong but they’re still wrong 😅 if they are gonna fix themselves they need to do it right. Put respect on that girls name by learning to say it! She’s more than earner it.

I'm pretty sure this channel pays someone else to do a voice over and those aren't necessarily cheap. I'm not trying to dismiss this because Rebecca has absolutely deserves respect. I'm just not sure how it plays into these circumstances.
@rcaixetav

Her surname is indeed pronounced Andrajee in Portuguese, though. And saying her first name as we hear it in this video isn’t wrong, but Hebeca would sound more natural to our ears. But anyways, kudos for the channel for putting the effort to learn gymnasts’ names as they’d be pronounced in their native languages, not many do that. What an epic World Championship!

rebeca doing this number in less than 3 years, what we were robbed of all these years of injuries, mind you that this is not even rebeca with full potential, due to her 3 acl, everything she does is extremely preventive. rebe has the capacity to risk much more but her health history doesn't help

This new code should get an asterisk for history. The same gymnasts win every AA medal because they chuck skills and it doesn't matter if they fall or do it with great form. Only 4 people were winning AA medals in this world whereas in the 80's and 90's the top 15 could have won. If you stepped OOB you were done on floor. Simone now flies OOB and still wins. It's not her fault but if she had to control her landings and worry about form, things would be different. The new code has ruined the sport. All that matters now is difficulty even if done badly.
@aliciamcdonald7105
@aliciamcdonald7105 Жыл бұрын
"but if she had to control her landings and worry about form, things would be different." Are you for real? Simone has been winning for YEARS because aside from her difficulty she also has a very HIGH level of execution. What you are suggesting is that where Simone has a flaw is where YOU WANT more than a fair deduction to be made, that's it. YOU PEOPLE are SICK, SAD and STUPID! At this world's, Simone had VERY FEW oobs and whatever FORM errors YOU saw then I am certain the QUALIFIED judges would have as well and deducted accordingly. Whatever ails you sir/mam/cretin, you need to check the pharmacy for it because there is no medication on here for THAT.
