@@HoopsandHipHop In your Johto theory videos, you forget the possibility that every Pokémon version exclusive from the original Red and Green were going to make it in to Gold and Silver, as Pinsir and Weepinbell were going to receive evolutions. Not only was this covered up by Sprout tower and the bug catching contest, but Ekans and Sandshrew are only obtainable as a Game corner prize in one version each. There is a Gold and Silver leak that shows evolutions to both. Pinsir’s evolution included a third center horn (like Heracross) and a mask and Weepinbell was going to evolve into a Bellsprout with leaves instead of roots with the use of the scrapped Poison stone.

Pokemon made a lot if excuses but mostly whining about how much work making the game 3d was hard on them so things got cut. Maybe if they didnt wait so long to bringvthe game to at least semi modern graphics theyvwouldnt of had so much "work" to do to make a game standard for the time. The sad thing is all the way to at least gen 8 they are STILL recycling and re using so many graphics and some animations from the game, sometimes only just reskinned or with added effects.

Amber might also be a reference to Ambergris, a liquid found in whales digestive systems, which also was used for fragrances, since the town is located at the sea or an ocean.

I always felt that Generation VI was (and still is) really underrated. There are *a lot* of charming qualities about Kalos imo; personally I really loved all of the small towns & the various landmarks in the game (like the castles.) I just felt like the whole region was very well put together, aesthetically speaking, and it had a lot of beauty to it. The games themselves introduced so many awesome Pokémon that are now some of my all-time favorites- like Noivern, Sylveon & Pumpkaboo- plus some really cool features that have since become standard today (like character customization & interacting with your Pokémon outside of battle.) Unfortunately, X & Y got _totally_ screwed over when it came to giving them the enhanced version (or versions) that they *desperately* needed, so that certain aspects could have been expanded or improved upon; not to mention giving the story & characters some much-needed narrative closure. So much was left unresolved. It's sad, because these games never got the chance to _really_ shine like I believe they could have 😕

The idea of XY being based on the Holocaust seems like a major stretch. I also want to point out that Lysandre and Team Flare are doing what they're doing because they want to remove all things evil. And AZ more or less turned himself immortal because of his Ultimate Weapon. He did it to himself.

Out of all the regions, I feel like Kalos got the most potential and then that potential was wasted. The inspiration for this region has tons of history they can play up, but it's so obvious that while the beginning of the game was so richly diverse, and towards the end, it felt rushed. It's like the creators got too ambitious, ran out of time, and just boxed it up and forgot, which is a shame. This is the one region above all that truly needs a remake to flesh it out, or a 3rd installment, but I can see that GameFreak ran out of time and now they have to move on.

Probably not his own footage. For the sake of speeding up production a lot of KZbinrs take already available footage from other KZbinrs (always with their permission, mind you) that fits what they need instead of replaying the games themselves. speaking of the pokemon language translator that is another thing that was cut from the games and used in the anime their is 1 of episode of the pokemon xy series where ash Clemont Bonnie Serena and their pokemon encountered 3 pancham and Clemont made a device that could translate pokemon speech into English.

You hear the Santalune Forest/Viridian Forest comparison all the time, but speaking as someone who found all the ways Santalune and Viridian parallel one another, was very impressed to see all of that as well. Santalune and Viridian Cities both contain the first Gym you come across in the region, and have three ways out of town- one is a route leading to a town or city where the regional professor gives you a Kanto starter, one is a route leading to a forest named after the city, with each forest having an identical layout to the other, and the other is Route 22, which is a clear jump ahead of the routes' current numbering scheme and leads to the Pokémon League.

Omg just watching this Kalos footage makes me so nostalgic. I know XY have their share of problems and they aren't exactly the perfect games but gods they really went all in with this game, you can tell they put so much effort into crafting an awesome region in 3D for the first time. And watching so ORAS footage too, it makes me really sad that BDSP didn't use the same~ish artstyle, like this, or like the Let's Go games, it looks sooo much better, not too proportionate that the region layout feels weird but also not to Chibi that the overall game looks so uninviting... Honestly Gen 6 is really underrated (I feel like I'm saying this for every Gen past Gen 4 but I mean, it's kinda true imo 😂)

As someone who knows France I thought some of the place names in Kalos were interesting. Hotel Richissme in Lumiose City literally means "Wealthy Hotel," the path leading to the Pokémon League gate is called "Dernier Way" or "Last Way," Route 21 is called "Grande Valleé Way" (Big Valley Way) and spans *surprise* a big valley, and Route 22, which leads from Santalune City to the other side of the League gate is called "Détourner Way" (like "Diversion Way"). Also it's pronounced "Loov." The "re" isn't pronounced in this case. It IS in some cases though (I often referred to Lysandre as "Lea-san-druh," since that is how French people wuld pronounce it).

Can't name my Pokemon Thumper because it has hump in it? That's only the tip of the wordfilter iceberg. I also couldn't name my Flabebe Violet because it has v-i-o-l in it which is French for r*pe. This after beating a gym leader named Viola, whom I also can't name a Pokemon after. These games are going to teach kids bad words in other languages.
