From what I remember Kurt has also said that at the time he and Eddie were feuding, Eddie was so fucked up and in pain that he could barely walk backstage but when he went through the curtain he was able to hide all of it. So in the match in question, Eddie could have been delirious by the time he came back to gorilla and was just lashing out.
