It sucks you got “blacklisted” by the music labels. It’s silly that live-streaming service claim to want to expand into the music scene yet they mistreat their content creators so much. Why would anyone want to stream only for the greedy labels to take all the money? You weren’t uploading the full songs and you inspired me to expand my musical pallet. I don’t blame you for wanting to move on. We’ll be here to support whatever you do next.

It was noticeable that it wasn't fun for you a lot of times. And I understand the problem with people not bringing in new music. It was like people were trying to guess to most popular opinion instead of bringing something unique to their taste, and you're forced to react on autopilot. Sometimes I thought maybe I'm misreading it and just not the right audience and that's why somethings off. I'm glad you have some perspective on trying new stuff that does excite you. As long as I've been watching you, these transitional moments have always been great to see for me as a teaching moment, since you always seem to climb up higher than before after the struggle. Bless you and good luck 🙏🏻

I've never heard of you or seen your content before, but got this video in my reccomendations. I absolutely love the transparency, it's so fucking refreshing to FINALLY see another youtuber talk about behind the scenes stuff and money, without any bullshit or filler. As a content creator (albeit super small), I can feel for a lot of the things you talked about regarding the balancing of content you and enjoy and the content you need to make. Content creation is a volatile job, all while being extremely frustrating (and fulfilling), and I wish more people would talk about that honestly. Really solid stuff overall dude, and I wish you the best!

Very relatable, as a newer KZbinr - thank you! I've also found that once sponsors come in, either with View Guarantees or hoping the video does well to secure future sponsors, it's difficult to try something new. Why try something new when it could flop and lose future sponsorships? Better to make the safe, easier videos. But then you feel stuck.

this is a huge issue for KZbin music creators at the moment. I really appreciate you speaking up Pat. 👾
@UnoMartinoo8 сағат бұрын
it really is. imo the labels should only get revenue from strikes based on how long the clip is. like if the clip is only 3% of the video they should get 3% of the revenue. also the reason i quit trying to start youtube they kept taking my REMIXES down. nothing but (mostly unreleased) vocals on my own beats. and even my own beats sometimes. youtube needs to tighten up frl

But I will also say I think as long as u keep making videos that are true or real and honest like this u will be fine! Its just like u said, gotta do a mix of stuff for money and a mix of stuff for fun! We all dream of finding something that makes us money and is what we want to be doing! Ive def had a few times that I was making money off of what I wanted to be doing or doing creatively anyway. But u also gotta remember to try and not mess up what u love doing or do creatively by tainting it with making money and in turn paying bills and living style. The experience u got from making the expensive videos is priceless too, like how much not to risk or how much cant be going out as opposed to coming in!

when you talk about it people make it seem like you are ungrateful or think that "youtube is harder than a 9 to 5." But it's just us being honest about this job. Plus considering how many people want to be full time creators its important to discuss these realities of the job

@ especially if you have to do all the work yourself. I understand when you reach your status and you can pay people that's also tough too because you're taking money out of how much you're making so it's difficult either way but they call being a content creator the new 9-5 trap honestly. Most content creators only make like 25k a year or something. It's hard to sustain yourself.

They've been hitting me with illegal copyright strikes too. EVEN if it 100% follows fair use copyright policy AND youtube guidlines it doesn't matter- if you appeal the decision the record label ALWAYS wins 10 of 10 times(umg sony ect. doesn't matter). It's absolutely absurd. & it seems VERY selective too bro. There's KZbinrs who do the SAME thing you do that haven't gotten striked or demonetized.
