@@TomKatStitchery It's self inflicted. I've had it for years and have been living in a remote area about 5 hours from any service specialist. I fail completely to get it serviced but made a mental note to take it in as soon as I have finished these pieces I'm working on for the local Agricultural show. Sadly, I'm halfway through an Upton Skirt it goes and dies. I'm living much closer to a specialist now so there is no excuse other than "after this project"🙄. He would say the obvious and charge me huge amounts so I may aswell just get a new one and then take the old one in later or just not worry about it. The motor has seized but it was very veery dirty because of my lack of maintenance. Lesson learned again as it's how I killed my sewing machine a couple of years ago.

I really like the quilted jackets, also. And I love the idea of making it reversible. More options and more bang for your buck. I prefer welt pockets to the kangaroo pockets. There isn't a way to make them reversible is there? And what would you do if you wanted the kangaroo pockets? Just put them on one side or not make them at all?
@TomKatStitchery2 жыл бұрын
I think you could do the welts, but you would have to have an outer fabric and inner (or lining) fabric, but then you could do welts on one side. You could do the kangaroo pocket on one side or on both, if you wanted!

The Big 4 pattern company patterns don't fit my body very well and require more adjustments than Indy patterns do, so I rarely buy them. I do own that New Look skirt pattern and it's cut out and has been for months - oops! I shall snag the Simplicity shirt pattern, even though I'll have to do an FBA. I am trying to use patterns I own and not buy fabric, too.

I think that when you find a pattern company that drafts from a sloper similar in shape to your body that it makes all the difference. I have a body shape that requires a lot of alterations with Big 4 patterns as well.
