You missed that Delta rebranded in 2000s after exiting bankruptcy and merging with Northwest Airlines. AND...the when viewing the vertical stabilizer from the captain's (port/left) side, the orientation of the widget is pointing NorthWest in honor of NWA. The then CEO, Richard Anderson came from NWA prior to being at Delta and joining the two companies.

Some interesting details, but as a New Zealander I would say the reasoning behind the Koru and black livery is dubious at best. The use of the Koru goes back into the 1990s and seems to be more about a distinctive tail than anything overtly cultural (if you look at its predecessors). Black is the colour of our national sport's teams and has nothing to do with elegance or style ......

In 2010 Delta acquired Northwest Airlines, after that, they tilted the triangle on the planes' tails 45 degrees to the left, so they'd point northwest on a map. Another hidden meaning for you. :)

My country's flag carrier airline, AeroMexico, also has a quite interesting logo. You'll find it in the tail of all its fleet: it's a representation of a Caballero Aguila (Eagle Knight), from the prehispanic Mexica culture of the center of the country. You can see the silhouette of the profile of a man wearing an eagle shaped head vest.

Was hoping Qantas would be in there being the world's third-oldest airline still in operation, having been founded in November 1920 and the name Qantas translate to Queensland And Northern Territory Arial Services. The game that normally exists between the E and the X doesn't make the arrow very visible, even though its close. So the guy just had the idea to completely remove any space between the two letters to make the arrow more apparent. This was genius...

The earliest origins of Delta Air Lines was Huff Daland, apparently the first aerial crop dusting company in the world. They were founded in response to the weevil epidemic which was wrecking cotton crops in the American south, and flew all along the gulf states, including the Mississippi Delta. Only FedEx has a 'hidden' meaning because there is something hidden in a literal sign. Ryanair can also be argued to have a hidden angel. Everything else is just explaining the symbolism of the logo and you got missed the hidden element in the the Delta logo! No wonder you need scriptwriters!
