Great video. I'm also a Vietnamese Canadian and I'm going to Vietnam next month. Did you get any stomach issues eating at the market? People say don't drink the water or have any ice in your drink. Thanks for your video

@@cphu72 I have been to Vietnam about 3-4 times now and have not gotten any issues eating. I never eat anything that’s been out in a container. I eat fully cooked things and if it’s street food. I make sure it’s cooked/ reheated properly and not just hanging out there. The ice, you can use the ice they have, just buy bottled gallons of water for your rental aparrtment, conveniences stores is everywhere to help with that. Dont drink from the tap. Drink bottled. I went to Kenya Africa however, I had major food poisoning lol . That one was bad.

im here in Saigon at the moment and have severe food poisoning. I grew up in SEA, so my tummy should be tolerant with the bacterias here, but it really is at a differrnt level. its very hard to avoid food poisoning if you eat BanhMi. the meat and veggies are left out the whole day, and this is what tourists mainly want to eat here. to be fair though, i think after a week or more, our bodies should fully adapt to the hygiene of food prep here.

@@84jordie godayummmm I feel bad for your food poisoning. When I went to kenya africa, I had SEVERE poisoning as well. I am there with you. I do always tell audiences to not go for the banh mi in the stalls that are basically there from morning to night. Avoid that, because it's not really refrigerated!!!! Hope you feel better. I always always avoid stuff that's been left out! quick recovery to you.

@@PhinexTV haha thanks man, it's all good, part of the adventure being in a foreign country. It really isn't the fault of the stalls here, they are used to the food being out the whole day, and I'm sure this doesn't affect most people. Otherwise those stalls wouldn't be so widely available everywhere. Also thanks for your videos, I'm getting ideas on how to haggle a bit with the price. If I may add, these shops give me a lower starting price compared to my wife, she looks western, I'm mistaken for a local here, so I guess that helps too!
