Audacium, it's an alternative to Audacity now that Audacity has implemented telemetry. It works on both Windows and Linux.

@@raymondgradzewicz I am not sure about this but I think that the Audacity Team apologized for the Telemetry and said that they won't implement it anymore... Correct me if I am wrong.
@raymondgradzewicz2 жыл бұрын
@@capedcrusader5282 True, but muse group still owns audacity and they may only have 180'd their decision because of the backlash. Audacium is community driven, not company driven like Audacity now is.

Couple more programs: Shotcut; Shotcut is a free, open source, cross-platform video editor. . Raw Therapee is a RAW photo editor similar to Adobe Lightroom. Thought of one more: Handbrake; HandBrake is a tool for converting video from nearly any format to a selection of modern, widely supported codecs.

Thanks, always get at least one software to download from this series! I would like to mention Chocolatey as a package manager, it doesn't have a great GUI, but when you get used to it, downloading packages, and keeping things up to date is very easy.
@Neucher2 жыл бұрын
These days chocolatey is mostly replaced with winget that is pre installed on any windows 10 system.
@RogerioPereiradaSilva772 жыл бұрын
@@Neucher winget is a poorman's clone of Chocolatey, though. Did MS finally add the option of updating installed applications through winget? Last I checked, it could only _install_ applications which made it a slightly better option than Ninite. Chocolatey actually does everything you expect from a bona fide package manager.

In my opinion, the best free software in existence(other than free Linux OS variants) is Blender. It's a really versatile, feature-rich software, with industry-level standard and uses. And can be used for modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. Each of these fields are so complex in their own and tough to master. Blender support lots of formats, provides lots of plugins, optimizations, and even allows creating and using your own plugins. And it is regularly updated. Thanks to their development team. 👍👍

I use the free VS Code with free WSL2 Ubuntu from Microsoft. VS Code is no longer light weight and takes hard work to setup correctly so that it can use Conda environments installed on Windows and on Linux sides correctly. Still sticking with it for now. Anaconda and Python are also free. I was also going to mention 7-Zip too. I use Paint on Windows for simple crops and resizing pictures. Your recommended programs for images look better.

It's a niche application, but it's hard to beat N.I.N.A. to run a telescope and camera for deep-sky astrophotography. Free, open-source, but Windows-only.
@BioHunter19902 жыл бұрын
I’m curious how do you use software like this? Do you connect your camera to a computer while using it? Like, what do you need to do this kinda thing?
@danbrown5862 жыл бұрын
@@BioHunter1990 Yes, connecting your camera is exactly what you do--you can connect a Canon or Nikon DSLR, or a dedicated astrophotography camera. To make good use of it, you'd also want a suitable telescope mount, and with those two things, you can largely automate the process (though there are certainly more accessories that could be bought). Check out the channels of Nebula Photos and Cuiv the Lazy Geek for lots more information.

@PiltdownSuperman2 жыл бұрын
"Everything" at 9:10 was frustrating at first because it ignored my external desktop hard drive. I had to search, then I learned that it can be told to index this as well, and now it's fine. Seems like Win 10 got hurt feelings, since some thing it found before are not showing up.
@spawncap90092 жыл бұрын
Love everything. Use options to add your hard drives. I have 4 external hard drives hooked up to my pc and it searches all of them in less time than it takes windows to search one folder. Remeber the search line takes file masks like the dos command prompt does. So if you have a *, etc it wont take it like a normal text search line will.
