Where do you find the people wearing these looks in Paris? They must be lining up right in front of Paris fashion week venues waiting for photographers to take their picures. Last few times I was in Paris, I mainly saw tracksuits, trainers and generally not particularly well-dressed people. If you go to Italy, it‘s different. But French style is a myth, lived there for almost a year and only saw tourists wearing breton tops. 😂

Your new puffer looks great on you. I will disagree about slip dresses, though. This is definitely a "different strokes for different folks" piece! Many of us look better in dresses with more structure and body than slip dresses can achieve. The length and drape look dowdy on me. But isn't it wonderful that there is something for everyone! 😘

I can see the uncomfortable aspects of a slip dress. I’ve seen it worn as a layering piece under a button down or sweater. It makes a nice contrast of textures with a sweater. Also slip skirts are nice if you don’t want to bother with dealing with the skimpy tops of slip dresses.

I saw leather/denim slip dress and I thought it was a wonderful idea, the satin thing is not my thing, although many people have styled it so wonderfully that I forgot my initial reaction to this trend in my late teens was being floored about how we as a species have decided fashion is wearing our underwear/bedroom/innerwear out 😅

Cropped jackets are great with the maxi length, so you dont get a strange cut off with a longer coat on the middle of the leg… so the maxi and the cropped is a natural match… 😊

I think when fashion changes some time at first you don't really like the idea of it but once you see how people are styling those items and making them look cute its okay to change your mind about them its like skinny jeans and wider leg styles were really hard for some people to get their heads around and they hated them at first then ended up loving them 🥰

My son and daughter in law just returned from Paris and they said it was dirty and one of the worst cities they visited, and they would never go back. I love the Paris fashion but they saw none. Funny I think we give them to much credit, maybe? It seems like we idolize their fashion.I went into Walmart with a baggy striped sweater, a pleated long skirt, Lug Knee Boots, and a beanie. A little granny said to me "Are you French?" You are so stylish. I LOVE YOUR FRENCH HAT. She was so sweet. The world thinks the French wear those beanies, but they don't. I have lived in London and Australia, and I am Amercian I have always loved trench coats and stripes and beanies . I wish that I could be as minimalist as they are. Great show Love watching.

I can't imagine Paris being dirty as I think it's one of the cleanest large cities I've ever been to. It's so much cleaner than most of our American large cities like New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, etc. I think Paris is one of the prettiest cities in the world. No, most Parisiens don't wear berets, but most are very simplistic in their style. The trouble is there are so many tourists that sometimes you can't tell.

I've been going to Paris almost annually since the mid 1970s during my university-age years. As for it being dirty, it's like with about any other big city and depends on where one is in the city. I've been and also stayed all over the city. As for fashion, although I like some of the fashion that comes out of Paris, I take my hat off to fashion in Milan and Italy in general when it comes to Europe. High on my list. As for other places in the world, I take my hat off to Japanese and other Asian designers as I've spent a lot of time in Asian cities and have worn Japanese and other Asian designers since the early 1980s. For me, Paris is one fashion city, but not "the" fashion city as I'm looking from a global view. Greetings from Los Angeles

@d.y.e3803 Yes, it most definitely depends on what part of the city you're in. In Los Angeles, Hollywood Boulevard and several other areas in LA are pretty dirty and trashy looking. Like I mentioned in my previous comment, there are lots of dirty areas in almost every major city.

This comment right here. When I went to Paris, I was actually underwhelmed by what the everyday people wear. I come from Montreal and I feel like people here are more fashionable. I guess I was expecting more when I got to Paris. Oh but men however are different story. I found them well dressed and there's just something about their style that's on point.

Well it’s Summer now in Sydney and I did buy 3 pairs of shorts after your vid…Leonie I live in them, haven’t worn shorts for years and am embracing them again. I just bought a tunic length stripe mock neck sweater. The stripe is about 1” width, done in various muted denim blue and grey. It’s my first stripe sweater. My strap dresses are all maxi sundresses in cotton or cotton voile. I always wear them with a shrug or some sort of coverup.

Breton style tops are a staple in my wardrobe. Leather pants and leggings are also in. Puffer coat every winter alternating with camel coat. I've loved my trench coats ever since the 60's they never go out of style. Slip dresses are okay if they have something underneath them but if they're shiny they're petticoats imo

Thank you for the video. I like a lot of these styles: stripes, denim on denim. I have a suede belted safari style jacket and a cropped Italian leather black jacket. I found both at a thrift shop for cheap. It turns out for me, that most of my stylish pieces are finds from the thrift store or are hand me downs from my mother. Speaking of, she has a brown suede pant suit with cropped jacket circa 1977 that would fit me if I can loose 10 lbs…… BTW I love your outfits that you modeled, including your slip dress with boots.

French girl fashion is always Ooh la la. I wore a wool brown/mixed tweed midi skirt to church Sunday with some thigh high socks and riding boots (were thinking loafers at first) to keep legs warm because of very high kick split in back and I just wore a plum oversize pullover soft preppy sweater that button at neck (had it for 35 years now) and tucked in at waist and added a tan belt through loops. I have been so blessed to have thrifted some really great leather trench coats at a steal and some of them have a thick zip out lining for those cold winter temps. My mom gave me one of hers it a pale grey with a real fur collar because I have the same vintage flare style she had back in the day and of course this one will always be special to me. At 10:25, looks like she just took an oversize button up denim dress and tied it at her waist, that totally making a statement. I just been struggling on the decision to buy some pleather leggings (Walmart) but not sure if I buy a cheap pair that I seen YT influencers saying they had for 3 years if they will really withstand the wear and not tear or peel. I do like the stripe tops, I have them in sweater form and thick cotton tee for warmer season, in black or navy on white (it a classic). My black puffer is almost like the short waisted purple at 14:03 but wider cuffs and it have sashes for closures and looser fitting (kimono jacket vibe). I do have a couple of striped tops, but as a rule, I’m not a fan of the horizontal stripe. Even when I was slim. I do however love stripes when they have a mix of vertical and/or diagonal stripes together, but these seem hard to find. I think if you are slim, you can get away with whatever style you like - horizontal stripes, oversized jumpers, slip dresses etc. but otherwise, in trend or not, I’m currently a size 14, so not for me! 😬

About maxi skirts i have one with tulle details, green flower patterned and will try to incorporate it to my wardrobe :) That denim maxis also looking very good, i am thinking of getting one but they are one or maybe two year at best pieces, and harder to wear. So maybe i can just get a classic denim skirt just above my knees. Denim winds are blowing, definitely. But i don't think it will last long (?) especially full denim look. Denim is my uniform anyways, it's already done. Anything stripped is just not for me, they make me look childish, basic, easy. Stupid rather than cute. Very big stripes or small amount of stripes like my long sleeve stripped t-shirt showing under short sleeve t-shirt without stirpes are tolerable and yeah kinda cute. But a complete striped shirt oh no big nightmare, looks cheap on me for some reason. Crop jackets are also good but if you want comfort you have to wear them with high waisted pants so i have to check how many high waisted garment i have. Or you can wear them with dress. I live in continental climate so i better wear some shorts or petticoat in some kind under my dresses to not get cold with crop jackets. Yeeah. I have two high waisted jeans and idk about other so will check that. And leather is just

I don’t have lots of money to throw away on trendy stuff. However, I’m willing to spend a good amount on classic, high quality stuff that can carry me through many years. Then selectively get some trendy accessories or pieces that I can work into my wardrobe without breaking a bank. Most of all, like decorating your home - find your own styles and aesthetic, that will never fail. Don’t just blindly follow what’s on social media or fashion designers’ are telling what you should wear. Do read and learn about trends. But don’t be a slave to it. Find your own style. Say, instead of wearing skinny ankle jeans, I can go for a straight leg, fit and flare denim … but humongous huge jeans that pool on the floor sweeping the street as you walk. Those are so ugly and ridiculous looking. Not stylish or elegant. On top of that, you pile on a way oversized shirt and jacket…. What a big mess you look! I refuse spend any amount of money so that I can look like a slob.

This annoys me: Leonie, your content is great but I find it a bit exclusive for AU and NZ viewers when you are trying to cater to Northern hemisphere audiences primarily. It's obviously not heading into spring down here, but the opposite - we are walking towards cooler weather here. Is there a way you can address both climates somehow?

Most of my audience is based in the northern hemisphere so it wouldn’t be sensible for me to invest days and days (which is what’s it takes to create these videos) for them to only get minimal views.

As a Canadian, I can assure you, the outerwear & sweaters are getting packed away with all the other winter items as soon as possible!

I am french but sincerely, I will never understand what people like so much about parisian fashion. Everyone dress the same way: flared jeans, white T-shirt, striped sweater...). It's so boring! And we don't forget the obligatory Parisian touch of snobbery: we dress very simple (even ugly with clothes that are too big and unflattering). As long as you wear a Hermès, Dior or Chanel bag, then everything is fine, you are saved. This is the principle of Parisian chic. What hypocrisy! 😝
