This was a great episode. I’m 77, under five foot, 100 lbs, but have the body image of a six foot supermodel.😉 Love flair, full pants, long skirts, stripe sweaters, duster coats, incorporating all those with the classic trend. Not sure about the multiple piercings but I chickened out on college, friend ready with needle, cork and ice cube, Still have virgin ears. Love the hair scarf. Blessings

I'm in the same age bracket and had my ears pieced about the age of six by a friend of my Mother's who was actually a Gypsy and used the same method as you describe which back then was unheard of (in Canadian culture) and thought I was pretty special to be able to wear earrings. (The earrings didn't go in immediately as thread was knotted into a hoop, allowing them to be treated with rubbing alcohol until they healed.) Also my four older sisters had them done but oddly enough my Mother never did until she was well into her forties which she requested to be a Mother's Day Gift from me to her as many retail jewelry counters offered the service by then with studs going in immediately.

Know that your hair will grow back wavy and silky. It's not known why it grows back that way but it seems to me like a wonderful gift after losing your hair. Also try berets or any hats that compliment your face. And don't forget the importance of good nutrition, yoga, meditation and prayer. Best to you on your chemo therapy.

I think there’s no age limit for having several piercings at all! I have 3 in each ear lobe as symmetry suits me. I’m 30 now but I intend to wear those well into my senior years. I love the cohesive looks you can create with them, and they can be incredibly elegant when styled that way!

Piercings: I love the multiple earrings on several ear piercings; but I opted for a nose ring, which really was liberating and a lot of people have them now. The pants under dresses looks confusing in many of the examples you provided, maybe leggings under dresses? Idk. Always loved silk/african scarves to adorn our hair. Pleated skirts - nice!✌🏾

I have trenches in most cool colours, cream, buff, khaki, black and navy, every length from jackets to really long ones. I love them. Especially with cowboy boots and straight leg jeans. You can tell I’m an 80s girl (old woman to be precise). I also love vintage silk scarves which always go with trenches. My daughters complain they’re slowly morphing into me because of their love of trench coats and boots …

20+ years ago when I was 16/17 years old. I got multiple ear piercings 7 on each ear including 3 on lobes, an industrial, conch, daith, tregus, and rook. I still wear them all today. I personally don’t think they are “trendy” although I see myself keeping them and wearing them indefinitely. I did have stretched ear lobes so grateful I didn’t take that too far and I was able to take those out and have my ear lobes go back to normal! 🤍

I'm 48 and have multiple piercings in both ears. Triple helix, conch, tragus, forward helix, triple lobes and rook. Plus my nose pierced. I love my piercings and there is some beautiful jewellery now for these type of cartilage piercings. I also wear what I want and don't let my age deter me if I like something. I think we should all wear what makes us happy. It's good to be an individual and true to yourself (currently in my loose fit jeans, platform converse, vest top and stacked jewellery). I know what suits my body type and there's trends I love but can't wear as they don't suit me. So ladies, if you fancy that little sparkly helix piercing, I say go for it! x

I absolutely adore silver jeans, but the one pair I tried on didn't look good on me. I was wondering if it's because I'm high waisted long legs with narrow shoulders. Because the silver it made me look all bottom and unbalanced. I think I look better with outfits that focus on the top, such as jackets with alot of pockets, epaulets, necklaces, etc. But I'm going to try again. Or maybe I should look for a cropped silver jacket? That would be cool.

Multiple piercings! Uff! I’m an ENT and I know for sure that piercing the cartilage is not a good idea, if things go wrong, which happens, and the piercing gets swollen and infected, the ear becomes a cauliflower ear and that’s not becoming at all! Please, limit the piercings to the earlobe!

Even as somebody who has four cartilage piercings, and who will likely get a few more despite the terror of something going wrong, I agree. Most people just don’t seem to be aware of just how risky cartilage piercings are and don’t do any or enough research into them. I can’t count the number of people I’ve met who’ve complained that their piercing hasn’t healed while playing with it with dirty fingers. And now that cartilage piercings are actually a trend? Terrifying.

I love the metallic trousers. I can't see that anybody would dislike them. Some people only wear silver or gold but I've never met anybody that dislikes both! As you say it would be so much easier to style any colour with them. I hate it when people plonk any old colour with black trousers- I think it looks awful. I think black trousers only really work with neutrals.

Aww love your look today. I love headscarves, and all kind of hair accessories, and you just gave me idea- headband, i want to style it like 60’s BB style😜 i usually used scarves to wear as headband as well, but its sliding🤪 little stretch, would be great😜 Well love metallic accessories, but no not metallic pants. And not very much like off the shoulder tops, they are sliding. Yes to maxi skirt, looking to get ballerina cors one. And yes to stripe sweaters. There is no age limit, for most of things, and that includes piercings😜 although i like the look of them, but not actual piercings. I have 2 on one side, i would get maybe additional one on each side. But only lobe. I am not going to get any further than that😳and thanks to so many various ear cuffs, extension chains, etc…, there is no need for so many piercings, i might would not go with crazy earrings, but thats more have to do with style, than age. Love midis and maxis wear them constantly. Many of mine are Karma Road brand carried by a local specialty store...just bought slinky bell bottoms. I did my own geneaolgy over one summer fascinating...direct descendant of Robert the Bruce and his descendents ancestor from that line came to US Colony of Md. When csptured at the Battle of Dunbar by Cromwellian trrops marched to Durham Cathedral...excavations have found skeletons of soldiers who died as prisoners there so he was lucky to survive at all. Since he was son of a Laird innScotland, after the Restoration he was gifted plantations for loyalty to the crown. One is now Rock Creek Park in the DC area. I suggest Find a Grave in the USA ...terrific free site to trace ancestors graves.

I'm 54yo and have multiple piercings, not in my lobes, but my upper ears and other places including my nose - and I LOVE them. I dress fashionably, I think, and not like a biker or goth, and I never get criticism. Most people are pretty much accepting of them. I think with any look, if you own it there's never a question. I also LOVE the skirt over pants look!! I've loved it since the 90's, especially the wrap scarf made to look like a skirt over jeans.

Totally enjoyed this episode though there are a few trends I will pass, due to my age. For example the metallic pants I shall opt for in accessories whereas already own some of the other garments mentioned (maxi denim skirt/striped sweater/trench coat/minimalist sandals) and recently invested in chunky hoop earrings (in single gold and silver metals as well as their combined metals in a ring/short necklace/watch ... not intended to wear all together).

I think that fashion is just a form of expression it shouldn’t matter how old you are if you like something and you feel comfortable with it enjoy it and have fun! I’m in my fifties and I have more then one piercing in my ears and I love it! I dress with things that make me happy I do not think age should limit you.

Multiple piercings are ageless and beautiful. I think you have to make sure it’s a reflection of your personal style and not too trend. I have my septum pierced and it’s been pierced since I was in college and never once did I feel like I was too old for it because it’s so ingrained in my style and a true reflection of my personality.

Trench coats and striped sweaters are not 'trends', I would consider them perennial pieces that come back every year. The silhouette/colourways may change, but they are not a trend in the true sense of the word. I do like the minimalist sandal trend. That really works for me.

I promised one of my granddaughters I would go with her if she got her nose pierced and I would do mine. She told me she went and had it done, without me, and it fell out. So now I don’t have to do it with her. I’m a chicken. I’ve had my ears pierced for over fifty years. And I had the second hole done too. I don’t remember when. But that’s all. My youngest daughter and my oldest granddaughter have tattoos. Which I’m not thrilled with. My daughter has hers mostly where they can’t be viewed at work. But she does have them on the tops of her feet. Once again, I’m a chicken. And I don’t like needles. I don’t think I will ever own metallic pants. I’m 63 and a bit chubby now. Maybe when I was younger. But not now. I own scarves. I just don’t ever wear them. My granddaughter’s have taken some to wear. I have a long tan trench in my closet. I don’t wear it often. But it has a liner and could be worn as a winter coat also. I don’t normally wear off the shoulder tops. But I might try one, with longer sleeves. My arms have bat wings and then some. I only wear sandals once it gets warm. I can wear slides, if they are wide enough. I bought a pair and I couldn’t get my wide foot in it. I gave them to my daughter. And the ones that have more than one strap never fit my feet.I have a very high arch and they just don’t feel comfortable.

I never liked multiple ear piercings, nose, lip or body piercing. Wearing only one pair of earrings just looks a lot classier. (I hate tattoos on women, too, as do men). I do like metallic pants and skirts in silver or gold, but not so much in the bright color versions. Skirts in general have become a lot more trendy, and I like all shapes, but knee-length skirts are the hottest length. I disagree about us petites sticking to midis, maxis or above-knee lengths are much more flattering, they both make the legs look longer. Headbands are ok, they are useful for growing out bangs, for one thing.

Tattoos and piercings are cultural for many people. Classiness is limiting and discriminatory because it is often centered around whiteness. Your comment reminds me of a co-worker telling me that when I straightened my natural hair that I looked professional, as if my natural hair was unprofessional.
