Man that fact about Toby Gard returning for "Tomb Raider: Legend" really IS one massive happy end, since for me personally, I consider "Legend" the absolute apex of the whole franchise. Just EVERYTHING was done right there! Lara was an amazing badass, the stages were massively interesting and fun to explore for secrets and...that! Epic! Soundtrack! Indeed one of the few cases in Gaming History where a game ABSOLUTELY stands true to its title!

Fable 2 was a great game. I also know I am in a small minority here, but I quite enjoyed the first Bubsy game.

I played the original Fable twice, first on Xbox and then on PC. It wasn't what was promised but it was still a great game. It had a great atmosphere; the colors were vibrant and the British accent that NPCs used was wonderful. The game also allowed you to purchase a title that the NPCs used when they addressed you. There were more dignified titles available, but I chose to be called Arseface and never changed that. It was hilarious to hear NPCs call me that in their hearty, down-to-earth way. Fable 3 was the best of the series though. Instead of the usual medieval fantasy world, it took place in a world that resembled 19th century Britain: industrialisation was going on with all the mistreatment of workers that a Bad Guy was able to imagine. The game also included a hilarious side quest to find 50 evil garden gnomes that had escaped from their owner. Not as arduous as similar quests in later games (koroks, you know) but the whole idea of evil garden gnomes invading the world was just as non-wholesome as could be expected of this series.

I loved each entry in Fable. All for their own strengths. I still go back and screw around time to time. There’s something special about them.

I thought Fable 2 retained the charm of Fable 1 but advanced some of the gameplay elements where Fable 3 was a push too far in the direction of seriousness. Fable 1 was basically a comedy. So funny that game. I think 2 is my favorite.

Brenda Romero - John Romero's wife - was lead designer and writer of Wizardry 8 which had a famously troubled development that had to be salvaged from a failed outsourced project and basically finished the project with minimal budget and a studio everyone knew was closing the moment the game was finished. She even wrote the dialogue and even the MANUAL herself, both of which are hilarious. Like...laugh out loud hilarious. Yes, it is that funny. Not only did the game come out but it's considered one of - if not the - best examples of that type of RPG. Basically the opposite of Daikatana.

I think the writer got a bit confused with the Daikatana entry. John Romero and Tom Hall left id Software in 1995 to form Ion Storm, citing “a restrictive company culture and pressure from the higher-ups” during the development of Quake (in a nutshell Romero got lost in the creative process and took issue with John Carmack’s repeated demands he stop dicking around just finish the damn thing). One of Daikatana’s biggest issues was that nobody outranked Romero at Ion Storm, so the only people pressuring him to finish the game was publisher Eidos Interactive. But when Ion Storm signed their initial three-game contract with Eidos there weren’t any hard deadlines for the games, so Romero was free to engage in the blue-sky thinking development style that had caused so much friction at id. That’s where most of the delays and technical issues with Daikatana came from, Romero’s total lack of leadership skills and firm belief that every decision he made was the right one.

Honestly, Mega Man 3 is probably the best game in the series. It's a close race between 2 and 3, but since the Metal Blade is so unbalancing to the game and turns the rest of the game into easy mode once you get it, 3 is my favorite.

The Original Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider Legend are both amazing to me. 😊 I own Spec Ops the Line [CIB]. It's a pretty fun game, and I bought a year ago on Mercari for $18.07 before it got delisted from digital stores and before the price went up. EA Games just keep on digging their graves deeper and deeper.

It’s so sad to know now in 2024, EA, the developers of so many great titles especially in the PS1/PS2 era, are now nothing but a greedy money grabbing sack of shit company, that sold their souls for cash. When a company stops caring about their customers, it’s down hill from their, like recently with Star Wars Battlefront 2, such a good game NOW!!!! But on launch, it was an awful money grab forcing people to spend to have any real chance in the game. I’m lucky I didn’t get the game till it changed and all that shit was out, but I’ve obviously heard all about it and the damage it caused. Just a shame they disrespect us so much to try to bleed us dry.

I don’t get the issue with making a sex symbol? There are hot chicks, and most extreme adventurous types are in shape. The game wouldn’t have sold as well if the main character was a dog. She’s a bit pointy, that’s my issue. Who’s sexually attracted to video game characters from 1994? Guilt sucks, you did alright guy who was in charge, you did good.
