tip for anyone getting skorn's bow in Fable, you dont need to kill a whole lot of people. You only have to have your evil meter go up by X amount. "Guess my goodness and compassion has evaporated.." I have said basically the same thing after going through that in an RPG game as well 😂 When it comes to my much loved Fable games, there are endless ways you can be good, bad or in between. However in Fable 3 (the one game in the series ppl usually dislike the most including myself) the ending leaves you with the feeling of "damned if you do and damned if you don't." SPOILERS below... Having to break all your promises to all the ppl that helped you overthrow your brother from the throne plus turning some towns into disgusting wastes, building brothels instead of a school for kids, ect is what you have to do to save all the lives of ppl in Albion. These are considered the "evil" choices. Or do the reverse of all that and most of the ppl in Albion die bc you don't have enough money to fund an army and fortify the area to defend against the darkness. You do those "good choices" and ppl still love you as ruler but there is basically no one left to care one way or the other anyway so....you're screwed no mater what you decide. One of the main reasons why Fable 3 sucks compared to 1 and 2 which were awesome.

Except with Vampyr you don't really get anything out of being evil. Sure you get cool combat powers but you can just fight a bit more and get the same results since fighting gives EXP too. On top of that in order to get the most out of being evil you have to hold off on actually drinking anybody in a particular section of the city until you learn everything there is to know about them, then go on a drinking murder spree afterward so it's not like you're going to be significantly stronger than you would be otherwise.

I'm one of the people who played the original Chrono Cross. To clarify on the Saving Kid situation however you can choose to save Kid or not to and there is a slightly different story because of that. Both options will lock you out of 3 characters. Saving Kidd will eliminate Macha, Glenn and Doc. While Abandoning her removes Korcha, Meg, and Razzly. So whether the best option is abandoning Kidd is actually very arguable because of Razzly, I don't know if they fixed this in the remaster but Razzly is supposed to be a magic focused character being the only Green element character to do so. However her bug gives her the stats of Greco the pro wrestler exorcist instead, making her physical attacks, which AoE, scary good.

@aarons.81612 жыл бұрын
Only game on this list I have a minor problem with is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Mainly in that you don't really have to be evil to use the Darkside powers. You can still use them even as a Lightsided character, they just end up costing you more force points to use. The real reward for being evil in that game (at least in my own sick, twisted and evil mindset) is all the down right evil and often funny things you can get away with. Most of them being through the use of the Mind Trick power. For instance, there are two evil dialog trees you can work through on Dantooine, though one of them I think is actually in KotOR 2. One being with this very... "generous" mandolorian/mercenary that you can effectively Mind Trick into giving you everything he has, including the very cloths (armor really) off his back, and he ends up none the wiser of "WTF just happen!?". Better yet, his partners are there... laughing along with you. The second, and perhaps my most favorite, is when dealing with the two noble families that are at war with each other. Long story short... the evil path... leads to a rather classic "Romeo & Juliet" styled ending. Only thing I regret however... is not having some popcorn at the time. lol
@Hillman2342 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised you didn't mention KOTOR 2. Completing the story following the dark side gives you an amazing dark side force power. It also gives you the opportunity to turn alot of your force sensitive companions to sith. If you choose the light side story you get a buff that's just okay. Pretty clear which side is the better choice.
@immortalfrieza2 жыл бұрын
On the light side, the buff you get is based on how buff based you were in general since it just gives you 3 buff force powers you've got simultaneously. So it's pretty terrible if you aren't already focusing on buffs.

Fun fact about fable, you can get the bow from almost the start of the game and only need one sacrifice, the henchman found in twinblade's camp. He is a pretty morally questionable character to begin with so it's not really something that would leave a bad taste in your mouth should you do it. Having this bow early on makes the entire game a meme especially if you're going with an archer build and is comparable to having the sword of aeons for the fighter build at the start. You can visit the darkwoods and twinblades' camp well before any quests that would direct you there. So there are ways to make this choice far less evil.

I forgot the add but the temple of skorm doesn't like pure souls for their sacrifices, they prefer evil individuals which is why the henchman works in this regard. Note he is also cheap to hire and you need only bring him to the location, he also doesn't need to trust you or have you convince him somehow to follow you considering he is a merc.

Some games reward you in faster progress, while it hurts your overall experience. Most is subtle, so that it`s on you how you feel about it. But sometimes you cut off storylines or miss out a more rewarding end, while you feel smart for being evil initially.

2:30 but if you don't help Olgierd you don't have the option to get the upgraded version (especially legendary one on NG+) of the viper steel sword. Sure, on deatmarch difficulty the bottomless bottle would be best but the viper sword is also pretty strong unless you want to go through that annoying (especailly if you suck at Gwent) Gwent tournament in BaW to outclass it. Yes, there's better grandmaster swords but you're going for a combat build with ursine armor and fully maxed out Aerondight it's one of the best steel swords due to the bonus status effect chance and also the crit one. If you don't use signs that much it's definitely a good option in terms of big DPS. At least that's what I got from researching reddit and Steam forums

Olgierd is not evil! He had lost the ability to feel! Imagine what you would do if you went more than a decade without feeling emotions or pain, and you are unkillable! Especially after loosing everything you ever cared about! As soon as you free him from O’dim he feels the weight of everything he’s done! Plus it’s an awesome little quest going into his realm to defeat him! And you get his sword that fires of an energy “slice”!
@modernhiendai2 жыл бұрын
He is the one who called O'dim, he is also the one who make a deal with O'dim and lastly he only live that long because he doesn't want to pay back his debt. What he did can't be change and it's time for him to pay back his debt, not only for O'dim but for everyone be harmed by him.

Skorms bow was awesome but you dont have to sacrifice 4 people. There are 4 people you can hire to help you 2 good and 2 evil. to get the bow you sacrifice one good one at exactly midnight in game according to the in game clock. The clock is difficult to read and your timing has to be impeccable or else you dont get the bow. I also think they either dont respawn or take a long to spawn and skorm doesnt like the evil merecenaries.

Ahhh, KOTOR...that brings back memories. In one playthrough, I was the nicest nice guy to ever nice guy...until the first fight against Bastila. Then, when we got back to the rest of the party, I did the evilest thing in the game...made Zalbar take out Mission...

In The Witcher 3 IMO you should always choose to be swift as the wind if you help O'Dimm, you find so much alcohol around the world and it's cheap to buy as well, so picking the vodka bottle that's always full is totally pointless, whereas the saddle he gives you you can't get anywhere else in the game

You can also get rewarded with bell bearings for killing the merchants in Elden Ring if you're feeling especially evil. You can use the bell bearings at the Twin Maiden husks in the Roundtable hold and never have to track down another merchant again.

Damn I guess I missed out. I never played the evil story version of Delsin because him being "evil" felt forced. But Cole on the other hand...
@immortalfrieza2 жыл бұрын
Yep. Cole being evil made more sense because he starts Infamous 1 with people treating him like shit. Delsin being evil though requires you to make choices that Delsin as a character has no real reason to make.

I aaaabsolutely lovedd Fable 2,3 to the point where I beat the game multiple times to see the good side ending and the evil side… the evil was always the most entertaining ironically 😭😭 but the good was good too lol. The game will really pull your alter ego

KOTOR 2 actually had a ridiculous ability only available to dark side characters that choose “Sith Lord”, called “Force Crush”. It was an upgraded form of Force Choke, but would lift the target off the ground before crushing their entire body and causing massive damage. It was single-target, and the “being lifted” *could* be resisted, like by bosses, but even if it was resisted the enemy would be stunned for a moment as they go through an animation of resisting it… but by the game’s design, even resisting it causes damage. So you could just spam that ability on bosses to stun lock them. Worked on Sion like a charm, not as helpful on Kreia since she uses ranged attacks, but Sion was ezmode

Force Crush is a powerful single-target ability. But the buff for being light side makes things much easier

I remember trying to play a good character in Skyrim; ended up being shoved down the evil path in a number of situations. So much for freedom of choice; that's why I've been looking into mods that'll allow me to get the best rewards even playing *as* a good character.

Another that comes to mind is just a single quest I can think of. In wasteland 3 there is a slave girl who runs away and is being hunted down by this woman and her men. The slaver woman offers to give you the codes to your own bunker you have your base of operations in. Unfortunately there’s no other way to get access to that area without giving up the girl to the slavers. Feels bad but man is the loot worth it. Especially early on. I love quests like that because it shows being the good guy isn’t always worth it since you get nothing in return for helping the innocent girl. Also you can’t kill the slavers because by the time you head back to them, they’re gone and they only send an envoy with the code you were promised. The least I did was kill the messenger after.

That was one of the chief failings for me in Divinity. You're railroaded into being an evil bastard. In an RPG focusing that much on good n evil, it's pretty lame.
