My favorite honestly is Philly Cheese steak! Onion, green bell pepper, rib-eye, mushroom and 4 slices of white American ( also called brick) cheese .Served in a french type bread or baguette. Thin slice the meat and onions and mushrooms, peppers and fry on a pan or flat- top grill adding chili powder, salt and pepper. Lightly toast the bread, put 4 slices of white cheese and add the meat, onion mushroom and bell pepper filling. *Warning, you won't eat another sandwich that compares to it. Ever.

Mmmh, everything looked so delicious. Very good recommendations, just love it. Schmalz is my favourite, in Berlin you have that on a special role called Schusterjunge, it's a role made of rye flour. It's so good. One of my grandaunts in Poland, she made that fantastic fried cheese with caraway seeds. I don't know the name, but it was so good on her bread.

My fathers family came from Germany to Texas in 1834. They settled in Fredericksburg and fanned out to Grapetown which became Lukenbach and established Gruene, Texas just outside of New Braunfels. Most of those foods you have shown, i've had pleasure of eating! Thank you for your recipes so I can make them for me and my non-German friends!

Thank you for sharing, highly appreciated.👍 I don’t know so many dishes & recipes before; just made the one with egg & green onions; I’ll try more. The last one is looked like luxurious, maybe served at supper. Now I stay at Taiwan temporarily, I found there’re many fruits here; referring to pizzas, I’ll try to put some pieces of fruits to see what taste will be. Usually I learn the traditional & make new changes, similar to R&D, wish no failure.😀 Looking forward to your next videos. Have a nice season.❤️

At girl scout camp in the USA we often made Pi-Che-Ham sandwiches, which are similar to the Hawaiian one. It is a hamburger bun, ham, cheese and pineapple wrapped in tin foil and heated on the coals of the fire until the cheese melts.

I've had Schmalzbrot in Berlin. It was good. I'm actually a big fan of German rye bread. On my trip to Bamberg, I had it with Limburger cheese, which was marinated in vinegar with onions. I'd love to try those others, but I'd skip the apples. Häckerle seems worth trying at home.

Clemens Wilmenroth was a tv-actor. In the 50's many goods were exported from Germany to the US. The USA ordered, that Germany had to by American goods. Canned pineapples had been one of them. Toast Hawaii had been created, to make that uncommon fruit popular in Germany. Sometimes I cook such a toast with fresh pineapple, good ham and gruyere cheese. And of course nothing on top.
