10 gimmicks given to WWE Wrestlers as Punishment

Terry Taylor as the Red Rooster was a gimmick designed to derail a career. Seems like Vince wanted Terry to stay out of the ring and just train the other wrestlers.

Ron killings embarrassed the WWE because he was so over because the man could do no wrong. He would allow anyone loved him. Please understand that Vince McMahon ego was beyond control.

R-truth WAS supposed to smoke during the segment, and WWE themselves were finned for breaking UK laws. They admit in press statements it was a planned part of his storyline after they got hounded for it: “The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw. Negative depictions of tobacco use on television are not unusual and can be seen on other TV-PG shows.” The clip of him smoking was also not broadcasted in the UK and you hear "that's illegal" being chanted because the UK smoking bans. This was only 3 months after Hardy did his "anti christ" heel entrance where he lights a cig (that people still call one of the best entrances) on TNA and I'd bet money we wouldn't have got this one if Jeff's hadn't had happened.

Dusty Rhodes made it work despite everything. I think his best was The Cowboy gimmick in WCW

R. Truth wanted to try something supposedly "Gangster" but when it got backlash, of course WWE denied allowing it. However it worked out for him. Because it brought out the real goofy R-Truth (One of McMahons favorites)

If you didn't follow Dusty then not watching his evolution as the common man is a mistake. Dusty was the O.G. Peoples Champ that fought with us hand to hand through hard times

- Dusty did get the polka dots over. i mean he was in feuds with the top heels his entire run. that's how good Dusty was! - I just thought the Steamboat kommodo dragon and ring attire were just intended to sell merch, and make what was otherwise a rather vanilla character more marketable in the 90s. Koko had a bird, Jake had a snake, Honky had the guitar, Ricky the dragon gets a dragon. it seems like Vince tries to punish wrestlers with a crummy gimmick but not one that can't necessarily get over. cause in reality why waste money just to punish a guy when the real punishment would be fire him and sending him out into the unemployed abyss (SEE: Tully Blanchard)

Terry Tailor as The Red Rooster. Tailor was talented very good wrestler in WCW but once he arrived in WWF he struted around & cackled like a chicken & even had little red spikes on top of his head. He was mostly a jobber & fueded with The Brooklyn Brawler. Such a waste of such a talent.

90% of the talent that came from WCW got BS gimmicks. Or they were just buried. I know guys like Undertaker and all says no that didn't happen but I say BS. It happened to alot of them.

@@TheDMLink during the invasion angle, almost every WCW guy was given a bad gimmick or stripped of the gimmick that got them over in WCW. Very few exceptions like Booker T and Hurricane Helms.
