I love local coop games/split screen. I grew up with games like this. I don't really have any friends to play them with now, but I play a lot of games with my wife. I made a list of games we have played in a comment on this video if you want to look. Do you have any other recommendations? I also like online coop games now, I have Gamepass, so I can play any games on there. I also just got Ubisoft+ and I am currently playing Far Cry 6 with my wife, a LOT of fun! I really wish they would make more games like this, so many people have partners/friends who love to play these types of games. But they are RARE!!!

But that's what makes the game so unique! And trust me, there are still a lot of games out there that you will be sad about that there won't be any more like them. But I really recommend A Way out, not necessarily for couples, but like two friends. It has a great story.

I guess its because it takes two set the bar too high for us, how a co-op game should be. Maybe I should give a way out another chance, but tbh we just want devs make more games like it takes two but different stories, maybe different characters and different mini games

No doubt in terms of Gameplay and Visuals there are no other games near to "It takes two"... for Cinematic story and twists No.1 is "A way out" ... i played Unravel 2... got bored ... that game is like Limbo and like so many other games ... nothing special ...

Well people have different tastes, unravel 2 is more casual and more relaxing since it takes two is more difficult so might be harder to pick up for inexperienced players.

@@RayChristo SPOILER WARNING A love story of a married couple who barely love eachother, yet forced to work together to achieve the same goal, and eventually falling in love like the way they used to. And then a tragic story of two men who both share a common goal: escape prison and kill harvey (the guy who messed up both of their lives), the character development in which Leo goes from using Vincent, to genuinely trusting him, despite how little trust he has for most people. He even convinced Vincent to write a letter to his wife, both of which barely spoke since to eachother, Vincent writes it. Right after what seemed like an okay ending- Disaster strikes, and the story reaches its climax! The police eventually catch them and it reveals to us that one of the ONLY people that Leo trusts at all, and immediately after he begins really trusting him, turns out to be a traitor, it may not seem that way, but Vincent started it off as a mission in order to steal black the precious black orlov back, yet he started to really care for Leo. Later on at the very end, Leo and Vincent are forced to kill eachother, pitting your own teammate irl up as the final boss, finally out of either endings, I'll go with Leo ending... Leo shoots Vincent and EVEN THOUGH he BETRAYED his trust, Leo still has respect for Vincent, which goes to show how much they care for eachother. Leo grabs the letter Vincent wrote to his wife, in the most gutwrenching moment I've ever felt in years, Vincent dies holding Leos hand. Final cutscene shows Leo giving Vincent's letter to his wife, and she reads it- It reads how Vincent wanted to start over, thanks to Leo. Classic movie trope of character reading a letter of a dead characters wishes... I know I gave It Takes Two the short end of the stick by giving it a brief summary, but both games are very well made and have so much love and care put into them, so yes it does compare, and in my opinion, it has better storytelling.

Played UNRAVEL TWO with my girlfriend (Now my wife). It's something else. It makes us emotional playing the game. For a Couple playing this kind of game, the feeling for the characters needing each other in a different ways is another level of "Words Can't Explain" thing for me.

@@srfyll8 i think it takes two is a whole different story compared to Unravel, gameplay and story wise, it takes two is better for me as a husband, but unravel 2 is all about connection and almost similar to It takes two but more towards friendship and BF GF type of game to play. That's my take.. btw, when you finished the game, it feels very empty and feels like you need more of it from the game. that's how deep it is.

Unravel 2 was so frustrating with my 6 yr old but the puzzles were a little easier for her in It Takes Two. (That elephant part though, that was hard for both of us) (Great co op games for parents and kids is the Lego games for anyone wondering.)

I love playing Local Coop or split screen games. The best ones I have played that you haven't mentioned and are all highly recommended, are any of the "Lego" games, Borderlands games. Diablo 3 on console. Spiritfarer, Untitled Goose Game, Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Darksiders Genesis. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is a lot like It Takes Two and so is Sackboy, but you mentioned that. Does anyone else have a list of games that you can play with others in local coop or even online? I am now playing Far Cry 6 online and is also a lot of fun!

Brothers: A tale of two sons actually can be also plated on coop on xbox. Xbox have built-in functionality to split controls between 2 gamepads, which transforms this game to 2 persons controlling 2 characters and playing in coop mode

These games are nothing when compared to It Takes Two. This game is just incredible, it's fun, it's exciting, it's beautiful, it's long, it has some awesome mini-games for replay - 10/10. Especially whenever you have a girlfriend which doesn't play games, and basically every other game ends after 20 minutes of playing because it gets to hard: - Rayman, - Mario 3D world - Overcooked - Moving Out Or the game gets boring too quickly for her: - Unravel Two - Sackboy - Brothers - Animal Crossing Or it's too hard from the beginning (because you need to move the camera) or it's not interesting for women: - Portal - A way out - Castle Crashers - Any racing game - L4D or any other Zombie game It Takes Two is the one and only game that whenever she came back from work, she wanted to play, the story was beautiful and interesting, gameplay was constantly EASY and DOABLE for ANYONE, yeah there are a lot of memes with men waiting for his GF trying to make a single jump in the game - but at least GF never gave up because she knew that in this game everything is DOABLE for her. Sorry but I played almost everything from this list, and nothing was played more than once.

Sony seems to be solely in the market of hustling their customers. I refuse to believe PS5 is any kind of upgrade when 90 percent of the games require an internet connection for no reason other than to monitor the amount of time we play. The multiplayer selections are a joke. The controllers are fragile, over priced and constantly needing replacement. I'm so grateful for vids like this. I really do enjoy my system and a select few games. I'm definitely going to give It Takes Two a try. But I'm so disgusted with Sony's cash grabbing antics that I'm almost ready to tap out. If anyone has any recommendations for some fun, immersive titles, with lengthy single player campaigns, and which requires little or no internet connection, that I may enjoy, please share them with me. Some of the games I really enjoy are AC Odyssey and Origins, The Witcher 3 , Guardians of The Galaxy, Hogwarts Legacy, The Spiderman games, Far cry 6, Ghost of Tsushima and Red Dead 2 which is easily the Greatest game I've ever played, Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated and desperately needed.
