Due to financial problem and lack of technology it was shelved and he took boys instead and another thing robot movie is based on sujatha's 1980 novel 'En Iniya Iyandira'. I believe Sanjay Gupta was fantastic in adapting foreign films, be it Aatish (John Woo's A Better Tomorrow), Kaante (Reservoir Dogs + Usual Suspect + Heat), Musafir (U-Turn), and Zinda (Oldboy). Through Zinda, he popularised Korean cinema and Japanese Manga amongst Indians. Chachi 420, Baazigar, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Yes Boss, Black, Ghulaam, Awara Pagal Deewana, Shaurya, Aamir, Jhuk Gaya Aasmaan and Gumnaam were just brilliant adaptations. And I'm sure I'm missing at least 20 more good examples.

Bang bang is very entertaining film. Me, my younger brother and my father always watch this movie if we find it on TV, hritik's hairstyle, action, story is very entertaining. I have watched both films but I think its more entertaining than the original. This is what we call a good remake. And taxi no. 9211 is also a very entertaining movie, I love the chemistry between john and nana patekar.

As a Byomkesh Bakshi TV Serial fan maine iss movie ko Ajit Babu (K K Raina) ke liye dekha tha kyunki maine tab tak unke chote mote roles hi dekha tha but iss movie main unka ek lead role hai... Pure movie dekhne ke baad I realised ki puri cast ki hi sandaar performance thi Specially Pankaj Kapoor and Anu Kapoor ki acting hosh uda degi..

The character Sakthivelu Nayakar from the movie "Nayakan" is based on real life Bombay (Mumbai) crime boss Varadarajan Mudaliar. You can even see characters based on Haji Mastan, Karim Lala etc. show up in the movie. Even the origin of Velu Nayakar as a migrant from Tamilnadu and later becoming a don to protect other migrants are same as what actually happened with Vardhabhai. The movie is a combination of real life characters and Godfather. A big difference I see is the way the character dies. In Godfather, Don Corleone dies of a heart attack while playing with his grandkid. In Nayakan, Velu Nayakar is killed by gunshot by his adopted kid who finds out that his policeman father was killed by Velu Nayakar.

In terms of remake I'd say Taxi no 9.2.11. Because Manorama is nothing like Chinatown (to me). And Taxi no. 9.2.11.has Better IMDb rating than Changing lanes and I enjoyed Changing Lanes a lot less.
