About singing solos..... I sang all the solos on Jimi Hendrix livealbum Band of Gypsys years before i took up electric guitar...an I agree - it helped a lot on the feel of pitch. It even helped me hit the right notes perfectly in a classical choir...

Really nice video, when i was starting guitar, i literally played just Queen for 6 months or even more. Really helped me with bends, power chords and vibrato. Brian really used scales in solos, so it really helps. I highly suggest to play Brian solos with Queen with metronome, it is definitely game changer!

For me, it was mainly local Gospel songs in the beginning. Later a bunch of us got together to form a band (our Summer of 69 thing) where wecovered everyone from Aluce Cooper (Be My Lover), Pink Floyd (Time), GnR, Aerosmith(Mama Kin, Dylan (Heaven's Door), Stones (Honky and Brown Sugar) Clapton's Wonderful Tonight....too many to mention. It's good your video makes me think of those songs I used to play. I was on rhythm guitar.

I can't play them myself of course - but a couple of guitar solos come to mind that I go back to listen to are the Moonage Daydream (Bowie) solo by Mick Ronson - and the lead guitar on Black Betty by Ram Jam.

I'm glad you mentioned the "aural" aspect and how important it is to becoming an effective guitarist. It also helped me no end, before we had the internet and KZbin. Music books were (probably still are) expensive, and it was so much cheaper to listen to a song and "work" it out, so you could play it. Very satisfying too. ✌️🇦🇺

Actually LISTENING to Texas flood and paying attention to srvs guitar work is probably the most important song to me. The song single handedly made me want to buy a guitar and learn how to play 3+ years after deciding I want to play guitar he’s still my biggest inspiration

The switch to the SX vintage Ash at 7.35sec It does sound very good. I personally think it plays as good as a similar style guitar costing 3/4 times as much. I have the sx sst vintage 57 series and it also plays and sounds good. Thanks for the list Elmo.

it seems sometimes that learning songs is surprisingly underrated. maybe it has to do with learning on youtube in times of copyright strikes. i remember when learning the saxophone my teacher was actually never really doing many dry exercises. it was more like half a page of execerise followed by 2-3 songs that actually incorporate the exercises. when i started self lerning the guitar learning through youtube vids kind of got me to a point where i knew all the finger exercises but no real songs. which is pretty unusable and not very fun.

I just picked you up. I wanted to say I'm liking your videos, you have great skills witch I commend you on, but I don't always agree with your product reviews. I'm listing on a fairly good system and sound quality could be better. Your videos are easy to watch and listen to. You're a young guy why all the classic music? This music was popular when I was just starting.

I am late ... but hey, better late than never, right ? 😉 I love your channel and your videos, still, I am definitely not into schredd music ... I am more a guy who is into Led Zep / Clapton / Stones / Knopfler / JJ Cale (yes, one of my favorite guitarist on earth) kind of speed ... So I would like to know, what were the 10 songs/solos you've learned (and that you recommend) at a lowest speed when you began to learn guitar ... 😁🙏

Your guitar looks really amazing to me. The color contrast of the top body, the white pickguard, and the fretboard are attractive. May I know the name of your guitar (one with large headstock, Strat-like), Sir ? What's the name of the color of the top body, is that like brown or chocolate in color ? Thanks so much in advance for your honest answer...😎

Ojoj. Viktiga låtar. Borde kanske tas på engelska för att facilitera samtal till den stora massan 🤔. 1. The Mechanix by Megadeth/Metallica is the one that got me to change drums for guitar. That "CGDC"-intro followed by a riff that was cheekily lifted from Detroit rock city by KISS is one. 2. Always enjoyed fingerpicking of the aggressive kind so the intro to Zakk Wylde's "Machinegun Man" when approached live is a big one. 3. For the love of god. Steve Vai. Big one. Not maybe for style or technique as much as an elevated acknowledgement for tone. Those would be 3 that affected me in different ways. But I could go on for quite some time. Tosin Abasi, Josh Martin, Yngwie, IA have all come up with truely inspirational stuff. Bra diskussion. Övningsaspekten är fortfarande min favoritdel av kanalen. Även om jag naturligtvis ser värdet I allt det andra också. Well done, Elmo The Coach Karjalainen. Och jag älskade inte Ronaldo i helgen 😉
