Not sure I agree about Cody vs Gunther. The wrestling itself was good but Cody, the babyface, took advantage of the fact that Gunther, the heel, had to wrestle an hour longer than him to earn the same Mania opportunity. Mysterio (#2) vs Orton (#30) in 2006 was a better version of this imo. And if you had to include a Rumble finish, 2007 with Taker and Shawn takes the cake for me.

Backlash 2000 with it's nuclear heat evolving into escalating pops for everything at the end (Linda pushing Stephanie to the ground somehow made everybody even louder) should be top 5 at least, it's not even here. And yeah, Taker v Shawn was so good they built to a legendary Mania feud.

Since Raw was pre-taped that week, the results of Mankind winning the belt were leaked. The announcers on WCW commented about it: "Mankind winning the championship? Yeah that'll put butts in seats." It was sarcasm. Funny thing was a lot of people watching WCW heard that and changed the channel. And that was the last time I think WCW was ahead in the Monday night war TV ratings.
