Kane deserves much much more. His run from 1997 - 2004 was incredible, he should have been nearly as big as The Undertaker. Kane was one of a kind and truly one of the most underrated characters in wrestling history.

Kane is the greatest WWE Monster, hands down. The man even had two of his own horror movies... And this was at a time when he wasn't even at his most terrifying! "The Big Red Machine" is the reason I fell in love with wrestling. He's the reason why I've always loved masked characters. He's a big part of what turned me on to metal music. I don't think any man could have pulled off that gimmick like Glenn did. He's not even just the best monster gimmick, but he's been a pillar in the WWE for over two decades. I don't think we'll ever see a more imposing character than Kane at his prime.

Absolutely love the inclusion of Bull Nakano
@Kwert
@Kwert 4 жыл бұрын
One of my most vivid childhood wrestling memories was watching Bull Nakano hurl Alundra Blayze around the ring by her hair. She was definitely intimidating. I feel like in terms of pure monsters, the original Kane character has gotta be number 1 though. I was intimidated by Bull Nakano, a bit scared of Taker, and absolutely terrified of Kane. Terrified to the point of nightmares where Kane stalked me through my elementary school trying to kill me. I don't know if there are any other wrestlers who could have elicited that response, before or since.

I'm surprised to see Andre on the list. He was certainly one of, if not _the_ biggest drawing names in the 70s and the 80s but I don't consider him a "Monster" as you define it. He spent the vast majority of his career as a babyface as far as I'm aware. He turned heel during his feud with Hogan because, let's face it, Hogan, as much of an egomaniac as he was, had an unbelievable amount of charisma and the WWF fans loved him no matter what he did. When that was done, he was a way for the Ultimate Warrior to gain popularity and make Warrior's WrestleMania 6 win against Hogan seem plausible. After that, Andre, very briefly, went back to being a babyface before retiring for good.

Umaga SHOULD have been in that list or at list had an honorable mention. He was a wild & crazed destruction machine (monster) that was basically used as a road block or "hitman". Some many times in wrestling games I would creat Umaga & would fight other monsters such as Abyss, Meng (Haku), Kane, Vadar, etc.. He was quit the definition of the word "Monster". But that is just my opinion.

Don't think 'Taker is a monster, anymore. He was a legit monster when Paul Bearer was his manager and the only think 'Taker ever said was "rest in peace." Now he cuts promos like anyone else, just has a supernatural gimmick. He's in the top 5 greatest wrestlers of all time, for sure, but when I think "Monster" I think more on the lines of Vader and Kane.
