Summerslam 2013 is easily the most underrated PPV in WWE history. Punk vs Brock is SO good and the last great match of Punk's WWE tenure and I don't know if I've ever seen a more emotional face vs face match than Cena vs Bryan.

What I appreciate about this list is it encompasses some of the best in their respective eras, spanning from late Golden Era/New Generation era to Attitude to Ruthless Aggression to the PG era. There's good reason to critique the WWE creatively because they prove that when they're good, they're great and they don't always do that.

SummerSlam 2019 was also a pretty good show. Edge returned, The Fiend debuted, Goldberg had his best match since WM 33, Charlotte vs Trish Stratus was a great passing of the torch and Rollins vs Lesnar was better than their WM 35 match. The only downsides were the double count out with Kingston vs Orton and the PPV being 4+ hours and I guess I'm biased because I was there.

You have a good point. Maybe it's easy for us to forget how good SummerSlam 2019 was. For me, the main event was a banger. A proper gutsy performance for a babyface Seth Rollins conquering the Beast in a manner that absolutely made him the BeastSlayer unlike their showdown at Mania.

You obviously are a whole lot of biased mate. 2019 was like the most mediocre SummerSlam and easily forgettable SummerSlam ever. Fiend debuted was good I'll give you that. Goldberg's best match since Mania 33? Uhh. No? It was just super kicks, spears and a jackhammer. Just your average Goldberg boredom. Passing of the torch? Mate Trish retired over a decade ago. It's not like Reigns beating Cena at No Mercy 2017. That's called passing of the torch. Match solely existed because the show was in Toronto and they didn't had any legit contenders for Charlotte. Rollins vs Lesnar at Mania 35 wasn't even a proper match. Just low blows and curb stomps. The bar was almost non-existent to climb. Still, a good match nevertheless. However, Shane fighting Owens in a Singles match (awful) with stipulation only hurting Owens was bollocks. AJ and Ricochet having the same goddamn singles match. I mean it definitely wasn't terrible yeah but nowhere near a good one let alone a pretty good one. If I had to do a Michael Rosen's reaction to it then it would've been "Alright, I said alright"

Good list. I really liked 05, despite all the controversy the ME got after the fact. I liked it better than 03 (which I wasn't a fan of), and it's probably my favorite after 02. 91 was my first PPV, and with the Perfect/Bret match, Dibiase/Virgil, the Tag Title Match, and the Bossman/Mountie stuff, is still a really fun watch. Been a while since I watched the whole thing, but I remember really liking 15 (with Taker and Brock).

Hear me out, 2017. Show carried by its main event, that fatal 4 way was AMAZING. The Styles/Owens US title match was great, despite ref shenanigans, and Ambrose/Rollins v The Bar was a barnburner too. Sure, Randy v Rusev and Jinder Mahal weren’t great additions, but the main event carried the show

2017 Strowman attempting to murder Reigns every week was brilliant. Then at Summerslam he went all "I'm not finished with you!" on Lesnar and we got the announce table party. Such a shame they dropped the ball with Braun.

HM: 2019 2nd best modern SSlam, 2016 just for ending the 2nd biggest PPV of the year with 2 of my favorites: Moxley & Balor as the world champs which I never thought could even happen & 2002 although I hated HBK winning with a roll-up when I was a kid cause I didn’t understand storytelling and just wanted to see him kick HHH’s head off.

SummerSlam 2002 isn’t just the best SummerSlam, its the best PPV ever. It has a solid opener, amazing middle of the card bouts, then Trips vs HBK and Lesnar vs Rock closed the show with a fuckin gold ribbon. No other PPV ever has maintained such a high level of quality from start to finish before it or since.

Keith lee would be number 1 and deservedly so. They took him just as he became a double champion and true main event nxt guy and put him in the barren main event scene of raw where he was just inbetween drew and randy unable to do anything. It's either that or taking aleister, ricochet, gargano, and ciampa all at once just to make tag team matches (while gargano and ciampa were in their bloodfeud no less).

Honorable mention to 1997 really just for the main event. Taker vs bret with michaels as the ref is what I consider the start of the attitude era. Shawn accidentally costing taker the match when trying to cost bret accelerated the bret/shawn feud leading ultimately to the screwjob while also giving us the taker/shawn feud which gave us hell in a cell and the debut of kane. And while Austin did get hurt on the show, which is horrible and could've been even worse, he became a star while he was recovering from it in the segments he was doing. Not a top 10 best summerslam, but influential no doubt.

I really loved that ppv but i cant remember if the other matches holds up. Usually i consider WM 17 as the unofficial start of the attitude era, mainly because Taker became champ and the Hart/Austin double turn happened
