I bought Detour Noir a little while ago, based on your suggestions and I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It smells great and is super close to Layton. In my side-by-side tests, it lasts longer than Layton on my skin. No need to drop the money for another bottle of Layton. But yeah, it would be nice if they gave it a more normal bottle, with a better cap.

Happy to see my RWI made the list. Love this one compared to the Original Raghba. The missing "Oud" in this one is what makes it wearable compared to the original. I go through a bottle of RWI each month...constant backup-bottle buys monthly...Yes, I wear it THAT much! Anything else I wear/layer is a compliment to RWI. But RWI is the star of my show. Wish they had a larger bottle tho...

Just like you said, the minerality of the scent is obvious to me as well as leather but others smell the immortelle or citrus more. That right there is a conversation starter and is exactly what makes Ganymede special

Hey Ash. What's the most overlooked awesome designer house in your opinion? For me it's Trussardi. Riflesso is a great example. The Black Rose is another. I get super classy Black Orchid vibes at an absolute fraction of the price.

It's funny you say that about Eau des Baux...every L'Occitane in Bahrain had their whole range. I've been to two of their stores here in Washington, DC and none have men's scents. If you can find it, the Amber Almond from the 86 line is quite nice as well.

Eau des Baux in the original 100 ml bottle is wonderful, like a more refined version of TF Tobacco Vanille. Have not yet tried the newer release of EdB though.

I'm surprised up to this time nobody mentions the Monotheme Black Label line of fragrances. I wished they did not dc'd Leather though that was my favorite, but Rose Oud, Saffron and Rouge are pocket friendly frags that last all day and make you smell like you got the Arab Money.

Starwalker... my most favorite Montblanc perfume or all time... projection considered average but when you smell it, the unique scent makes u unforgettable.. have been neglecting it for yrs due to using Ysl Libre as a substitute... thanks for the reminder tat I think it's time to stock up...

Detour Noir is pretty great, personally haven't smelled Layton but in comparison based on notes the only difference I can pick out is that the menthol note is very faint. It's there, just not as much which could be a plus or negative depending on the person. Starwalker I found at TJ Maxx so decided to take a chance, it's a nice fragrance but opening is VERY soapy lol Once you let that pass it's very nice, great office scent honestly as it's very inoffensive and I personally love the bamboo note since it has a kind of airy green note. It's interesting that it doesn't have any florals in the breakdown because it definitely smells like it does, just subdued.

I really like Guerlain L' homme ideal l' intense and no one talks about it. It was a blind buy and it's my favorite of the line, (though I never tried the cologne)

Calvin Klein Obsessed for Men Intense EDP (thank me later!) and CK2 (unique fresh masterpiece IMO). Wild card, not super unique but Edge Man Intense by Swiss Arabian is a great fresh spicy & fruity, invigorating scent, excellent warm weather scent, even year round really.

Furyo was the baddest boy in the block no doubt. Also OG Salvador Dali Pour Homme. There's just something unnerving but beautiful about it. First time I encountered a 'blood' note in a frag.

If you look up Ramsey you'll probably just get Gordon Ramsay clips. Search for Ramsey " this year in perfume" or "perfumer portfolio" he loves Furyo and Kouros and Salvador Dali and Iquitos and such. Check his channel out . I'm really going to have to get my nose on Salvador Dali.

Montblanc Starwalker is great for everyday warm weather. L'Occitane Eau des Bavx is a great sweet spicy woody smoky choice for the colder months. Both were instant loves at first smells for me. Just those two could make quite a nice, minimal, all-bases covered fragrance collection.

Hello:) A little question here, I am looking for a new everyday fragrance. The ones I am thinking about and want to test is Dior Homme Intense 2020, Givenchy Boisee and the edp, Versace Flame, Prada Black, L’Occitane Eau Des Baux, Valentino Oumo Intense, Costume National Homme Edp and the Parfum version. Which one off these should I aim for to use on an everyday basis? And is there other fragrances in the same genre that is missing from this list? Feel free to recommend:) And just as a little note, I am 18 years old, live in a kind of all year cold environment and goes to senior high school.

Everyone’s different, try them at a store and see what you like. personally I’m 19 and didn’t like DHI and Valentino Oumo because they smell too grown up and I feel that they are for older men. personally I have Prada black recommend it along with Chanel allure home sport eau extreme those are my two daily scents I rotate around, try those too.

I havent heard of all these fragrances, but I was gonna mention a great pickup from a local discounter. I bought a 100ml bottle of Drakkar Noir. I was orginally going to buy the 50ml, but the lady at the counter was comparing prices and went “you know what? I’ll give you the 100ml instead because its the same price at another store” the price i picked it up for was $40. Not a bad pick up

All those Montale Aoud scents ought to just be released as flankers of one line! That's the whole point of flanker lines, to do all these slight variations of a fragrance idea for those that appreciate it, and those who don't necessarily want a whole bunch of very similar scents will know to just not buy a whole flanker line.

It seems that Al Haramain Detour Noir has been sadly discontinued… but my suggestion is to check another Dubai brand called Luxodor, and the Loyal Agar perfume. In my opinion, the best clone of PDM Layton and with longer lasting and sillage
